tyler seguin is not listed in NHL. Got to have him in my LU's

Seguin is not missing for me. Make sure you're not accidentally filtering him out of your player pool.

He is "D" for Winnepeg

He should already be listed correctly for each site. Make sure you are not accidentally filtering him out of your player pool.

I cannot find him in the player list which kind of makes it unusable today

Sessions is showing up under every site for me today. Make sure you're not accidentally filtering him out.

I just signed up to test the software - however it doesn't seem to work for 2/10 yet? When should I expect this?

Need you to be a bit more specific here. Is this for all sports/sites? If not, what sport? What site? Etc.

Are you trying to tell us these players are missing from the DK player pool? If so, then as of the most recent update (5:22 PM EST) all of the aforementioned players are included in the DK NBA player pool.

There is no possible way there is over a 100,000,000. No possible way.

I can absolutely 100% guarantee that there are at least that many lineup combinations on any given night with a decent size slate.

FYI that Hutchinson is starting today and he isn't listed under the goalies.

Thanks for the heads up. We'll check into this.
Fixed.

But if I do it in the big one for tonight, $1, 86k people. If I split 1st(6k), I would make $1,200 on top of whatever one of my lineups hit money, correct? I don't see how there are that many lineups with all the stipulations. For example today, if Wade and Deng are out, thats two more guys you subtract. Then you can only have 4 players from one team and they have to be under $60,000. Yeah if there were none of these rules and no cap then theres a 224,246,880 combinations. Where did you get that number? If thats a proven number I want to see how, because I'm very tempted to try this soon lol.

Let's assume for a second that there are no stipulations on entering a contest and you can choose any 9 players you'd like. FanDuel's player pool tonight consists of 62 players, of which we can choose 9. This is a simple combinatorial sequence of 62 choose 9 (or 62C9) which gives us 20,286,591,270 total unique combinations of players.

If you bring the normal factors into the equation (salary cap, team restrictions, etc.) it's very reasonable to believe that the number of total combinations will shrink from 20 BILLION to only 224 million.

Missing player G Carey Price MTL Victiv. Trying to be patient, but this is unbelievable.

As I've said in the past, the NHL cruncher is still in beta. We are working day-in and day-out to make sure that it's working properly. Rest assured, we'll make sure that all the kinks are worked out before going live.

Hi all,

New user here! For NBA, is there a way to adjust the settings, criteria (on left side) on FC to construct a more consistent, high floor lineup for cash games and then, on the flip side, a way to adjust to construct a more risky, high ceiling lineup for tournaments? I know the optimal line up gives you the highest possible score, so my question is more focused on the less risky, high floor part.

Thanks!

There is a drop down menu right below the sliders that allows you to optimize by floors/ceilings.

How often are NHL player projections updated? I don't see the last updated label in the cruncher.

The NHL cruncher currently does not display the timestamp of the last update. There are a lot of other issues that take priority over implementing that at the moment.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it too much though. NHL projections do not change nearly as much as NBA projections simply because the player news for hockey is not as fluid and readily available as it is for basketball. The only thing that really changes is if a goalie gets scratched from their start, which does not really happen that often anyway.

I could be missing something, but it looks like individual NBA player stats are not updated beyond the games on the 16th, at least for Draftkings.

We are aware of a few issues regarding historical NBA data. We are already taking steps to resolve them.

Hi phillyCHEEEEEZ,

It looks like maybe the same problem is happening with Victiv NBA as mentioned above yesterday. When I import my projections, nothing shows up. Thanks in advance.

We'll look into it. Thanks.

Can you check Toby Enstrom D WPG Draftkings? It looks like you need to change the name to Tobias Enstrom for the link to work for his game log and stats.

Looking into it.

Byfuglien RW on Draftkings NHL 1/18 should be D. Weird cause he is correct on Fanduel.

Thanks for letting us know. NHL is still in beta so keeping a running list of all these discrepancies is definitely helpful as we work out all the kinks.
This issue has been fixed. He should show up as a defenseman in the DraftKings NHL cruncher going forward.

When I load my projections in for Victiv NBA, they don't appear.. but it does work for Fanduel and Draftkings

Ah, looks like Victiv is ignoring the first game of the day which may have caused a hiccup when importing players. Should be working now.

Issue has been fixed. Player's projections should be showing up properly.

Please add WPG G Michael Hutchinson to the player pool.

Thanks

Just a heads up. Hutchinson is not starting in net for WPG today. But we will look into why he's not showing up when we pull the data. Thanks!

Is it possible in the future to have the lineup builder ready to work ASAP even if the FC projections aren't ready? For me and I assume a lot of other customers we use our own projections with the lineup builder. Like midnight EST every night would be a good idea to have it ready for the next day in my opinion. Even if the projections aren't ready, you could just leave a 0 next to each one so we can enter our own. Just a suggestion. Thank you!

The lineup builder already gets updated with the players each day at around midnight. And you can still upload your custom projections using the player manager so I'm not exactly sure what your issue is.

To defend my statement, I understand that using this site is a tool and not a guarantee lock to win. I was just disappointed in how bad the projections were. Now last night, I went with 4 lineups; one was a dud, the others went 252, 272, and 278. I used the site as a tool again, but None of those won me any money in GPPs. However, I was satisfied with the site because even though I won nothing, I was competitive with my lineups and had the potential to place in a money position. I do not expect to win all the time or even half the time. What I do expect is for the sites advice and projections to keep my lineups competitive. All I wanted to hear from the site on Friday was, we apologize for how terrible our projected lineups were. That was it.

Why would we apologize for how bad the projections are? The data that was provided on Friday was based on the model developed for FC and we can't arbitrarily change the entire model because the numbers it spits out are not to our liking. Projections are never guaranteed to be exact. They're an estimation of a value based on previously recorded observations.

Now, what I can tell you is that, overall, FC's NBA projections are more accurate than anything I've come across and I have the statistical analysis to prove it. I'm more than willing to share it if you are interested in seeing that. The model is not going to be perfect every single day. Hell, nobody's model is going to be perfect every single day. The theory of central tendency proves that. Some days will be better than others and some days will be worse. We can only adjust the model after the day is over and we've analyzed all the data.

Lastly, I just want to touch on your GPP comment. Let's put this into perspective. The $2 NBA Shot GPP last night had 71,839 entries in it. Now to make this easier we're just going to assume you have an equal chance of finishing in any of the 71,389 positions. That means that you have a 0.001392001% chance to come in 1st place.

Moral of the story: don't ever expect to make huge amounts of money playing in GPPs.

In conclusion, as much as we'd like it to be, FC is not meant to be the be-all and end-all solution for creating the perfect lineup day in and day out. It's meant to be used as a tool to supplement and assist you in creating a lineup.

Same, unacceptable for a paid site in my opinion.

Relax. There is plenty of time before the contests start today. We are aware of the issue and are attempting to resolve it now.

How about it is 11:06 eastern time and no NBA projections are currently up.

I've noticed a few times that players are listed at the wrong position (IE RW when he's now a LW, etc) Is there any way we can edit a players eligible position? And if not, is that something that might be worked into FC in the future?

NHL is currently still in beta. This is a known issue and is part of the list of things that need to be addressed.

As for the feature suggestion, we will most definitely examine the possibility of including that.

Maybe a green color or arrow for a player's salary that has increased and a red color for one that has decreased?

I assume you're talking about a player's salary in relation to the previous day/contest, correct?

Hi,

Thanks so much for your NHL beta. While I know you're still in beta, one recommendation moving forward. Besides the difficulties with positions, which has already been noted, one problem I've noticed is that frequently your tool projects options that are top heavy with forwards and defensemen from one team. While this is fine, a problem occurs when your tool then selects the goalie from the opposition. For example, I've noticed the NHL tool frequently selecting up to four (4) players of the eight (8) available forwards and defensemen from one team and then selects the goalie that is playing the team with the four (4) non-goalies on it. Conceivably, this could be okay as the non-goalies could post a lot of shots (but not score) also giving the goalie a lot of saves. However, in reality a practice of selecting a bunch of scorers from one team and then the opposition goalie is going fail miserably far more often than it succeeds. In many ways, it is the equivalent of loading on MLB hitters from one team but then also rostering the opposing starting pitcher and closer, i.e. if multiple hitters on the same time all have good games it's almost certain the opposing pitcher will not.

This is a great point and something of which we are aware. This is definitely on the list of features to develop. I have suggested to Dave that perhaps we can give users the option of whether or not to force the optimizer to select a goalie against opposing skaters. That way, someone who is willing to be so bold (or insane) as to roster a goalie against four opposing skaters can do so.

Hey fellas,

I read somewhere earlier that said NHL Cruncher would be free since its still in "beta"

Is this true? If so how do I access it ?

I made a typo when I originally made that post. I mistakenly said that it "would" be free, but should have said it "may" be free. Unfortunately, my role as moderator does not come with authority over user access to the various sections of the website so I apologize for any confusion. That's on me. I will try and get in contact with the powers that be to clarify everything.
Okay, just spoke with the development team. For the time being, the NHL page is being locked down while it is being developed. Now that the payment stuff has been finalized and gone live they will have much more time to work on the NHL optimizer. It should be out of beta and ready to go for you guys fairly soon.

rick nash is listed in the wrong position basically making this tool impossible to use on 85-90 % of my lineups tonight, i would like insurance these issues are going to be addressed and running smoothly before you guys go to a paid service, all in all with football season ending you guys might be making a mistake by taking a work in progress to the next level at a time when everything is tuning down and before you show ground level users that you have ironed out all the kinks and that we are just going to be able to come here plug in our players and get the results without worrying if i will be missing out on tremendous value just cause a player is in the wrong position just my opinion

We're aware there are some discrepancies with regards to NHL. It's currently in beta and may remain free while we work on it. We are most definitely keeping track of all the issues/bugs. Rest assured, they will be addressed before going live with NHL.

Hi,

Colin Wilson is a Center for the Nashville Predators. However, he is listed as a Left Wing on today's (Jan. 4, 2015) Lineup Cruncher.
