Its well worth it imo.

Of course you've got to use your own intuition on some players, you're not going to find any set of projections or optimizer where you can just "plug and play" and consistently win, but, FC is one of the better tools out there imo

Would be to Lock 1 QB, then run the optimizer, then lock another QB and run the optimizer again and so on

Count me in. Golf projections aren't that hard. I just figure out the type of course and 5 relative statistical category. I find the top players in those categories that are in the field and I've done pretty well.

I just started playing Golf a few weeks ago.

I'm curious as to which categories do you use?

Along with the Pricing errors for DK last night, I noticed Chris Sale had an unusually low projection (13.82).

From what I read around the industry, he was pretty much the clear cut #1 SP last night and with a projection of 13.82 he wasn't in any lineup that was generated by the cruncher.

Just curious as to how / why his projection was so low?

Would be sick to have this for the Milly Maker in June

Hey guys,

I absolutely LOVE the Fantasy Cruncher platform as is, and I really don't think anything "NEEDS" to change.

There is one thing I would like to see though.

1) I would like some sort of player "Like" feature... Rather than "Locking" in my favorite players, so that they are on every single lineup, I'd like some sort of "like" feature, that would give a player an edge over some other options, but not necessarily LOCK that player into every single lineup.

2) Is there any way to program some way to enter lineups from FC directly into Draftkings or Fanduel? I just played in the Mega Payoff Pitch last night, and Maxdulary had 888 entries? I can't imagine that he entered all those manually? Or did he?

Any update on if or when this might be coming? I literally look for it every single day. :)

I would LOVE it if you guys could expand this new feature to allow users to select how many total players they want from a given game without having to specify per team. For example, let's say there's one game on the day's slate with a very favorable line and O/U. It would be great if I could specify that I want a minimum of X players total for this game in all my lineups (to guarantee a minimum exposure to a favorable game). It would also allow me to specify a maximum number of players for games I wish to limit my exposure to. This would be separate from the existing per-team setting you already offer, and hopefully this wouldn't require too much extra coding.

I know a lot of ideas get tossed in these forums, but this one really would be a great upgrade to an already fantastic feature. :)

Best wishes!

I think we may incorporate this, along with a few other advanced lineup building features in the very near future.

Currently you can set a MIN and MAX for each team. On DK the MAX for each team is 6

If you're wanting Any 6 players from a game, regardless of team, couldn't you just set each team to 3 Min and 3 Max?

Hey guys,

Just a general question about how / where you build your MLB Projections from?

What is weighted higher / lower?

What splits you use and so on.

I think it would be helpful for me, and others, to know a little bit ((without revealing too much of course)) about how the Projections were created each day.

something seems way off on this projection :)

Great idea.

Dave, thanks for the info.

I'm only asking because when I look at the LU Rewind the next day, and it shows the most recent update being late at night, around midnight usually, I know those lineups that come out in the Rewind aren't the same lineups that came out at, say 6:40 or so before the games locked (fanduel)

I'll start exporting the final update before the game locks, so i can just import that into the LU Rewind the next day, but I was just asking to make sure that's what was happening

Posted Topic: MLB - Auto Update?

1

Just curious, how the updates are working for MLB.

Every morning when I use the LU Rewind tool, I see the most recent update is usually after midnight, from the day before.

Meaning, I'm getting an "update" which is actually "after" all the games have been played...

Obviously, I'm looking at the rewind tool to see how the lineups finished, that were projected pre-lock, so I'm wondering how exactly these updates are being done?

Also, today's rewind, for 4-9-15 simply will not put Ian Kennedy in any lineup projection, but before lock, he was in every LU project unless I forced him out myself.

Hey guys,

I select a min of 4 players from DET on DK, and I'm not getting any players from that team in the results

If you're complaining about the lineups the tool spits out, do your own research and input those players into the tool. I don't know how many times this needs to be said, but this is not a plug-n-play tool, it's meant to supplement the research you should be doing on your own.

@dave we need some sort of +1 feature, or thumbs up feature.

Maybe a forum "rep" system of some sort?

Lots of good points being made by people that understand the value of FC and use it properly.

Keep up the good work

Its the 2nd day of MLB @rue21mike, calm down

Dave and the FC staff has been up front with all of us from the beginning that there would be bugs to be worked out early in the Season (for all sports).

So, the largest STACK we can have on DK is 6-1-1

I've seen some of the projected lineups spit out 6-2 which is invalid.

I've been able to work through it fine on my end, and god knows there is probably allot of coding involved to eliminate this on your end, I just wanted to make you aware.

Got owned by Samardzija in a lineup that had 7HRs. -1 what a disaster. Makes me wonder why cruncher had such a hard on for the shark

Shark is a stud pitcher, that's probably why.

Once again, I'll tell you guy, don't take everything the optimizer spits out as gospel.

If you don't think X,Y,Z player is a good play, don't play him, or better yet, try to figure out why [FC] likes him.

Shark is a stud, but KC is a tough matchup for any pitcher. Last year they struck out the fewest times of any team in Baseball, oh, yeah, and they went to the World Series, so...

Great news Dave!

Can't wait to try it out.

Keep up the great work FC

The key "issue" with this question lies in the simple fact that the last few weeks of the NBA season are a total crapshoot.

No optimizer, no matter how good (and i consider FC the best) can predict some of the things we've been seeing in late season NBA.

Hey Dave,

I'm staying up late like everyone else. Anxiously awaiting the release of the MLB Cruncher.

Posted Topic: MLB Projections

I'm a little concerned on just how good FC can / will be at projecting the sport of MLB.

Unlike NBA, I'm not sure how you to make solid, reliable daily projections in an event based sport like MLB.

In the NBA, there is minutes, which can be easily predicted and can lead to some spot on projections... "Minutes = Money" as they say in NBA... In MLB however, I'm not sure there is any statistic that is "predictable" to the point of building a projection system like this...

The MLB, imo more closely resembles NHL, in the fact that there isn't as much scoring and it is extremely event based for the most part... I've ran through some of the NHL rewinds and haven't seen nearly the amount of "high scores" as I've seen in the NBA... However, I see allot of "null" when using the NHL rewind so that could be why, I'm not sure on that...

Either way, I'm really looking forward to seeing how you guys put this together...

Thanks. The last minute stuff (last couple hours) was done by yours truly. I have learned a thing or two from Oreo, however, its stressful and wont become a regular thing anytime soon. But I was happy to see our projections ring true.

Nice job Dave.

Keep up the good work.

Sadly I didn't play the default FC Lineup, but still scored in the 290's and high 280's

You locked in those players..so those were not fantasy cruncher's lineups. There is a big difference. I don't think reggie jackson was in a single projected lineup. But I understand that you liked those players so thats why you locked them, to bad you didn't use that lineup.

Very true, FC didn't spit this lineup out.

I was just trying to show you how I use the FC Tool.

I don't think I've ever played a default FC Lineup, I've always made my own locks and exclusions based on the days news.

If I would have been thinking clearly and locked these players in, the #3 Projected Lineup would have taken down the DK $27 Crossover...

Details are below:

Player Locks / Reasoning

1. Reggie Jackson -- Been on an absolute tear since Greg Monroe went down.
2. Rajon Rondo -- With Monta Ellis out and Devin Harris beding Devin Harris, Rondo had to picked up the slack
3. Chandler Parsons -- Monta Ellis is the #1 scoring option in Dallas... Locking Rondo and Parsons made complete sense..
4. Udonis Haslem -- Been starting a playing big minutes with Whiteside and Chris Anderson out.
5. Andre Drummond -- Who else is going to rebound for the Pistons without Monroe? Anthony Tolliver?

Needless to say, but I DID NOT do this, thus, I am not $10,000 richer today... I just wanted to highlight how you could / should use the cruncher... Allot of the things I listed above can't be factored into the Cruncher, without manually updating your own projections or locking in those players

@Dave,

Update looks good.

Only thing is, the Lineup Rewind is not showing "actual" score, it is only showing "my projections" and "fc projections"

If I am out to dinner I check the site for updates, so if nothing is updated on Hawks and sitting guys than why would I think anything of it? Thought it was odd that there was no update since 2:03 but thought that maybe they were sticking with the projections from 2:03. In retrospect, I should have gone on Twitter, but I relied on a site I am paying for and trust. So stop trying to defend them. So I am a little annoyed when I put a team out that puts up 270 points and wins no money because an $8200 player did not play causing me to be a guy short.

I'm sorry, in my opinion, you can't play any lineup blindly with no knowledge of the daily events. I don't really care if the site is Free or Cost $12 per like FC, you shouldn't play any lineup blindly.

If you follow anyone on twitter, anyone related to the NBA, or DFS whatsoever you would have known that the Hawks players were out in about 5 seconds

@Davs / [FC] Staff,

Please post your travel schedule somewhere on the site ;)

I've seen several people complaining about the lack of "updates" today. While I agree with the customers, to some extent, I think some of the people complaining are coming off sounding pretty silly.

Someone said "this news was out for 2 hours pre lock, why no update"?
--- my response to this is, YOU as a DFS player should be smart enough to adjust the projections on your own... The entire Hawks team was announced as OUT hours before lock, then their starting lineup was announced about 2 hours before tipoff... You should have been able to adjust the projections on your own... Zero out the projected FP for all the Hawks players out, then increase the projections for all the players that were starting... You can find Fantasy Point projections on about 5,000 different DFS sites these days... It wouldn't have taken you long to find a few sites (rotogrinders, rotoworld, numberfire) just to name a few, and average all there projections together and plug that number into FC...

If you read my post awhile back, >>> https://www.fantasycruncher.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=282 <<< I showed you how the 1st half of the NBA would have broken down for you had you simply done no research on your own and just blindly played the FC Top 1-5 Lineups daily in the FD Slam... The lineups cashed 27.74% of the time, which, for having to do ZERO research on your own end is actually pretty damn good...

My point is, with even the most basic research, anyone today would have been able to know that everyone on the Hawks Starting 5 was resting... Anyone who used Millsap, or any other starter did so on there own, and honestly shouldn't be playing DFS (unless they like to donate money).

In DFS you've got to be on top of injury news... In the NBA in March / April you REALLY REALLY have to be on top of injury news... And While I will agree that the projections "should have" been updated because this service is one we pay for, I do NOT agree with blindly playing the lineups generated and then bitching about guys being out (insert Hawk player here)

The FC Team has done an amazing job. I use the cruncher daily to help me build my lineups AFTER I have researched on my own and set up my own projections... I've never once put my own hard earned money and blindly played the [FC] Generated lineups without researching on my own first... I suggest the rest of you do the same...

[FC] is a tool to help you build a winning lineup. Its not smart to just plug and play lineups "because you pay for the service"

-Cg
--my opinions are my own... they are not the opinions of [FC] or its staff

Only 1 game today

I just started playing NBA 50/50 contests on Fan Duel a few weeks ago. I noticed that many of the top-ranked NBA daily fantasy players on Roto Grinders select very similar, if not identical, lineups.

My sense is many of them must subscribe to the same NBA daily projections service. Any ideas what NBA daily projections they use? It can't be coincidence that nearly every player in their NBA lineups has a minimum ownership percentage of 25% or greater and the majority of their selections exceed 50% to 60% ownership levels.

Thanks in advance.

DFS "pros" talk to other DFS "pros" daily. They bounce ideas and lineups and game theories off each other all the time.

Many of them are close friends and co-workers as well with all the various DFS sites.

Its tough for a new DFS player, especially with the NBA in March/April, to compete with those players day to day

Hey guys,

I'm not seeing the "last update" now on NBA.

Having the same issue

Hey guys,

I'm using the FC Rewind feature, trying to see how the projections worked out yesterday.

Well, I see the projections were updated 1:39am and so obviously, players like Dennis Schroder is popping up in every lineup.
He wasn't scheduled to start until late news broke so I know he wasn't being thrown into any "default" projections.

Is there any way we can get the projections reset to the "pre lock" projections each day?

The FC Rewind doesn't really help us if we can't "rewind" to the lineups that were generated pre lock.

If this isn't possible, I'll just have to start saving the pre-lock projections myself and loading them the next day in the rewind, but I am just bringing this to your attention.

As always, keep up the great work.

Will Fantasy Cruncher be ready for MLB Opening Day on April 6th?

@taicheeze - you are correct without a doubt. You can't just "plug and play" and expect to win long term. Also agree with what you said about the Slam, only paying out Top 18% is tough and then only paying 2.5x your buy in is really tough. Looking at my numbers, someone doing this would have been broke in a few weeks if they only entered these lineups into the slam.

The $2 quintuple up would be +$641 over this same time span (if we can assume the same lineups that cashed the slam, actually cashed in the quintuple up *which isn't always the case* )

Just wanted to post these numbers and show people how good this tool is if you can figure out a system you like.

Keep up the great work fellas

Below are some stats I've been tracking on FC for Fanduel.

I have more stats from Draftkings which I'll post later, but for now, I'm going to post some of these results for Fanduel NBA only.

Lineup Settings / Info
**data gathered since January 8th, sans a few 2 game slates here and there**
1. Default (no locks)
2. Only Top 5 lineups tracked
3. All "cash lines" were used from $25 FD Slam
4. All lineups were used with the most recent update as close to lock as possible

FD $25 Slam
Average Winning Score = 338.6
Average Min Cash Score = 273.44

Here are the FC Results

FC Pro
- 155 lineups (roughly $4,000 in buy ins)
- 43 lineups cahsed
- 27.74%
- Average Score = 259.1
- ST Dev = 30.31
- High LU = 331.3 (LU#2 on 1/23/15 (248th) for $150 payout)
- Low LU = 189.6
- (-)$1,360 to date

FC Ceiling
- 155 lineups
- 39 lineups cashed
- 25.16%
- Average Score = 258.48
- ST Dev = 33.11
- High LU = 341.2 (LU#3 on 1/25/15 payout of $75)
- Low LU = 178.3
- (-)$945 to date

FC Floor
-155 lineups
- 36 lineups cashed
- 23.23%
- Average SCore = 256.37
- ST Dev = 29.97
- High LU = 340.5
- Low LU = 191.8
- (-)$1,865 to date

Overall, if someone blindly played the Top 5 from the Pro, Ceiling, Floor each night they would be (-)$4,170 to date

Does this mean the FC Tool is bad? By all means no... The reason for me posting this info is so that you all know you can't simply plug in these lineups and win consistently... You must use your own intuition and make adjustments on the fly, especially in the NBA where late news is a nightly staple...

I've been tracking other lineup building techniques, using the same Pro, Ceiling, and Floor lineups with my own locks (no projection adjustments)... I am not going to post those results, but, I will tell you over the same period of time, Since Jan 8th, those lineups are turning out much better... I don't want to go into extreme detail about my system, but I'll give you some of the averages.

(MY) FC Pro
-155 lineups
- 57lineups cashed
- 36.77%
- Average Score = 263.91
- ST Dev = 32.83
- High LU = 335
- Low LU = 188.7
- (+)$7,780 to date

All 3 lineups are averaging over 260 (263.91, 261.46, 262.86) and overall we are at $8,300 profit just on Slam Entries. Also, we're sitting at profits of $641 in the $2(5x) games using the same 5 lineups each day.

I'm not posting these numbers to get a rise out of people. Don't take this the wrong way, I just want people to understand how good this tool is with your own insight and intuition added into it.

Keep up the great work FC Staff! This is by far the best DFS tool on the market.

I'm seeing that the most recent update for today was at 4:00pm

Any update coming soon before lock?

Durant is listed as Doubtful tonight. That is probably why.

Just a guess on my part though

I'm pulling this from a recent post I made in a discussion in the "everything else" section. I feel like this is a much needed addition.

---

Here is what I am asking for... In the future, when we use the LU Rewind feature, can we have the ability to choose which projections to "Rewind" From? For example, if your wanting to see what the lineups were pre lock, you'd select the most recent update closest to the lock time... If you're looking for the lineups for your late slate games, you would select the lock that happened latter (after pre lock)

Maybe a drop down box or something?

I've been tracking the Top 1-5 Lineups for the Default Projections since January 8th for Pro/Ceiling/Floor and then the same with a few of my own locks which are based on Consistency / Value and so on.

In my opinion, it really diminishes the value of the LU Rewind tool if we can't rewind to the last update pre lock for each night. We'll never be able to say, "wow that was a great lineup" because we'll rarely get the pre lock rewind the next day.

Thanks for the insight fellas.

The same thing is happening again for me this morning as I'm going through and trying to document the results of the Lineups pre lock...

Here is the problem. As far as I can tell.

Last night, I made it a point to remember when the last pre lock update was posted. It was 6:44pm, so, 16 minutes before the 7:00pm Lineup Lock time. Now this morning, when I go to run the LU Rewind, I see the "last update" is showing 8:27pm.

Now I understand why, because there is late news, and late slate games to play (Ben Udrih). Obviously he became a late value option with the Conley news.

Here is what I am asking for... In the future, when we use the LU Rewind feature, can we have the ability to choose which projections to "Rewind" From? Maybe a drop down box or something?

I've been tracking the Top 1-5 Lineups for the Default Projections since January 8th for Pro/Ceiling/Floor and then the same with a few of my own locks which are based on Consistency / Value and so on.

Hope it doesn't sound like I'm bitching. I'm just trying to give you all insight on how I use the tool.

@soundofsilence - thanks for the insight.

PS: for anyone reading this, please understand that I'm not using the default projections in any of my games. I don't feel like anyone should simply be using lineups as a plug-and-play.

I'm just tracking the 1-5 results to better understand how they operate and which ones "on average" give us the highest quality lineups

Fellas,

I was on FC last night when the Durant news dropped. I ran some last minute projections shortly before the 8:00pm lock time.

Even with the Durant news, not a single (Perry Jones) was spit out by the "default" projections.

So, I log in this morning to gather some data from last night, and I see that Perry Jones is not listed on the #1 Default Roster Projection?

What gives???

I can't stress to you enough how important it is for the LU Rewind to spit out the exact same results as It did pre lock.

Please look into this

1-26-15

Bojan Bogdanovic showing up as a SF on Draft Day. Should be a SG

imo a LU generator is only as good as its projections...

from what I've seen to date, FC is the best in that regard

Would love for this to be fixed soon.

Its very hard to see how good / bad the FC lineups are without knowing how the recommended players performed.

Hey Fellas,

I just thought of another Idea that I think would be very helpful.

I know I'm not the only one that uses my own projections. So, what I would like to see is a button or drop down box possibly that gives me the ability to switch between my Custom Projections and the Default FC Projections.

As currently constructed, I would have to delete all my custom projections to go back and generate lineups with the Default Projections.

Posted Topic: Like Feature

1

Hey fellas,

In the future I'd like to see a feature where we can "like" certain players, without necessarily "locking" them into every single lineup.

For example, if I really like a few Different Centers on a given night, I could like all 3 of them and have multiple unique lineups with those players in them.

essentially i use this as a random number genertor for my 20-30 checkmarked players that i find to be either elite level talent or great value plays to all be in every possible LU combo

Interesting idea @leafs.

Can I ask how you make sure the FC generates lineups with the Players you want? Do you "Lock" in players? Or do you just adjust their projections?

Generally, I like to use 3 lineups.

Reason:

If you only use 2, you have the chance of splitting and just losing overall because of rake. Then you'll be questioning yourself and kicking yourself for not using the winning LU in all your games.

I use 3 with the hopes / expectations that 2 of them will cash, so, 66% is real good and give you a solid return on a given night... If you lose 2 of 3, obviously, you'll lose more money, and the rare cases where I lose on all 3 lineups really does suck, but they are rare.

Overall, if you can stay above 60% long term you'll be fine and slowly build your BR in 50/50s

rick nash is listed in the wrong position basically making this tool impossible to use on 85-90 % of my lineups tonight, i would like insurance these issues are going to be addressed and running smoothly before you guys go to a paid service, all in all with football season ending you guys might be making a mistake by taking a work in progress to the next level at a time when everything is tuning down and before you show ground level users that you have ironed out all the kinks and that we are just going to be able to come here plug in our players and get the results without worrying if i will be missing out on tremendous value just cause a player is in the wrong position just my opinion

While I agree that there are issues that need to be resolved (as with anything new)

I completely disagree with your idea of just "plugging in players not worrying". At the end of the day, the FC is a tool, that can be used in assisting with your daily lineup building. I don't think it would be wise to simply plug in the FC Picks and roll them out each night... There is still a level of intuition and knowledge on your part that is going to be needed each night...

Oreo and the guys behind this have done a great job already building this tool for us, and bassically giving us full control over the projections to be tweaked to our own liking each night. I think its unrealistic to expect Oreo or anyone else to give us up to the minute "updates" on projections. For example, I used FC for NBA last night, the lastest update to the projections was made at 6:39pm eastern for a 7:00pm lock. Sure in those 21 minutes, there could have been "breaking news" that would effect the lineup projections, but, there has to be some level of input from you on these as well... We can't expect them to change projections 5 min before lock, when they are adjusting all there own lineups as well

FC Team,

I know nothing about NHL, but I've started playing small stakes, $2 GPPs here and there and using the FC Tool and I've been cashing way more than I did in the past... Again, I know nothing about Hockey, so, I'm sure someone with a solid knowledge of the game / players could really benefit from FC.

Nice work fellas. Keep it up

Week 17 stats for the Steelers / Bengals game did not update in the LU Rewind.

All players are being displayed as only having 1 fantasy point

There are several others.

Colin Wilson - C listed as LW
Joe Pavelesky - RW listed as C

and more, I assume its just because its new, and we don't have all the positions adjusted yet.

Just letting you know. Good work so far!!!

James Neel listed as RW but is a LW on Fanduel

Nevermind,

You're right, 1 player is the default.

Thanks for the info

So is all good on the 29th?
I'm stupid, I was looking at the 28th lol

You guys CRUSHED IT on the 28th... I got some really high scores, and I was pissed when I didn't see them in the rewind... But I was on the wrong day lol

Nevermind,

You're right, 1 player is the default.

Thanks for the info

Makese sense to try and diversify your lineups.

However, I just ran the rewind for 12/29 on the Default with 1 Unique Player selected and my results are MUCH different than they were when I ran them earlier this morning without the new feature... The update time is the same, and I didn't lock or exclude any players.

Just trying to understand how the lineups generated are different from earlier today.

First off, I want to applaud you guys for the hard work and continued adjustments to the software.

I will say however, that I think this most recent adjustment, the "Unique Player" adjustment, will make this tool less reliable.

Looking back at some of the "default" projected lineups, from 12/29 and other days for NBA, the results generated when I started playing around with the new Unique Player feature took a serious hit...

If your going to have a Unique Player Option, that is fine, but, I think we should be able to use the "Default" option as well...

Thanks again for your hard work, I love the tool

Hey fellas,

While researching the LU Rewind, I'm seeing some days where the "Last Update" for the night is AFTER the Games have locked. I know you guys constantly update this thing so I was wondering if there was a way you could give us options to pick which "update" we want to pull the rewind from?

Basically, I'm researching and tracking how well the "default" lineups are doing in the the 4 settings you have, and I need the LU Rewind to generate the same lineups that it generates pre lock, but only the next day when we can see the "actual scores"

Also, if you could get "actual scores" to show up in the "saved lineups" then this wouldn't be a huge deal to me as I could check the lineup results that way without having to use the rewind feature.

Hey fellas,

While browsing through some of the past few days in the Rewind, I'm seeing "NULL" in several of the Actual Points column ?

Not sure what this means

I think highest Ceiling is simply the highest fantasy points the player has score this year

Default Projection LU (updated at 7:37pm) with 2 locks

Locks / Though Process

Steph Curry - Before lineups locked I thought most people would be leaning towards Westbrook because his Fantasy Points are a bit more consistent than Curry's. But, we all know Curry can go for 60 any night, and he did last night...
Curry = 61.9 and 28% owned
Westbrook = 46.6 and 44.8% owned

Jimmy Butler - Whenever Derrick Rose is out I try to play Jimmy Butler. He's usually a lock for 35 Fantasy Points, but when Rose is out he can get 45-50 because he handles the ball more. Last night he exploded for 59.5 in a surprisingly close game vs the Knicks.

So, in hindsight, its always easy to say
"lets lock in the two highest scoring players and see what the Fantasy Cruncher would have spit out"
This is why I wanted to explain these 2 locks

The Resulting lineups from those 2 locks are extremely impressive and would have made someone allot of Money had they been able to enter all 100 of them in the $2 Shot... Sadly, I did not do this as it would take a few hours to create 100 Lineups on Fanduel

96 / 100 of the Lineups would have cashed. Most of them would have cashed easily as 75 / 100 scored over 300

Below is the best LU with those settings, again, Only Curry / Butler lock with no player exclusions. So Default Projections other than those 2 locks.

This Lineup would have finished 20th for a payout of $150

4 LU out of the Top 10 would have cashed, and 3 of them scored 300 or more and would have cashed higher than the Min $5 cash. 3 Lineups scored over 300.

43/100 Lineups would have cashed using the Default Lineups after the most recent 7:37pm update. 29/100 Lineups finished at 300 or more

The highest score in the top 100 was 332.10 which would have placed 169th for a $30 payout

*note* these player exclusions were mainly based on injury and my own intuition about the players "true" ceiling.

Min Cash in the $1 Swat was 276.8

Speaking with perfect 20/20 vision, if I could have figured out this set of parameters Pre Lock, and bought into the Swat 100 times,
I would have Cashed 87 lineups and Finished with 5 or 6 in the Top 50...

Hi CeeGee, i really appreciate the analysis! I've just started using fantasy cruncher and i'm very impressed with it. Would it be possible to post the results of how your lines "would have" done?

Sure thing.

I'll try to post some daily results... Including players I excluded and players I locked to get the results.

From the results I'm seeing, you see to be correct, the Floor / Ceiling Projections seem to be a little more accurate. Still working on the "Highest Average" one... Not sure if those numbers will come up pre lock or not, but I'm seeing some really nice scores in there

Thanks Dave,

Do all the Filters, ceiling / floor / and now highest average, still show the LU from Before Lock when we use the LU rewind feature?

I know you set it up the other day, just wanted to make sure nothing changed... I'm getting some pretty good results going back through and looking at past
"Default" Lineups

Yes, the data will stay the same on specific days even when using lineup-rewind. The way we are calculating Floors and Ceilings is different though so it might not seem as apparent because the standard deviation is the only thing that should vary day to day, and it shouldn't change too drastically unless you are looking early in the season when there were not as many games recorded.
Thanks Dave.

So, Projection / Ceiling / Floor / Average are all "before" lock. Good to know. This will help me track results

Thanks for the hard work

I have not even waded through the replies yet but I would agree if you are not locking any players the floor lineup might be the best but if you lock in 4 players like I do to each lineup I think you will get better results using the ceiling... in fact I think you will get GPP big time cash lineups.

Can you share some results you've had using your "lock 4" system?

No offense but, if you play a lineup based solely off of the projections from this site, then you deserve to lose. This site is a great and wonderful tool but, you still have to do your research.

I agree... to a point...

From what I've seen in my short time here, I am more than comfortable playing a default projection lineup from here with minimal adjustments on my end... The problem is knowing which players to exclude, and why if you chose to... I rarely ever lock anyone into my lineup as I trust the Projections made by Oreo more than my own

Super interesting, thanks for the in depth analysis CeeGee. Top 100 proj, returned a profit is the bottom line in the Swat. You wouldn't happen to have an average of the 100 would you?

Thanks man. Right now I do not have an average for the 100 Lineups. I only wrote down the 38 lineups that cashed last night...

Since I started tracking this however, while only making minimal edits and exclusions to the Default Projections (exclusions only made for injury / scratches) the Default Pro LU has cashed 228/600 times 38% in the Swat for a total profit of $100 since 12/3/14

The "Floor" LU has cashed at a ridiculous 355/600 for 59.17% but again, I'm not sure how much the "Floor" LU Changes from the Pre Lock to the Post Lock LU the next day... Dave said he was going to work on getting the 3 Pro / Ceiling / Floor to only give the results from the Pre LU Rosters so stay tuned on that...

Interesting analysis! The projected lineup will not change in Lineup Rewind. BUT what might change our floor/cieling numbers. These numbers are currently ties into the main database. If a player has a really good game his ceiling will increase. If a player has an especially bad game his floor may decrease.

I would ask if there was a way, that you know of, for the Cruncher to spit out the same 100 LU for Ceiling / Floor as it did prior to lock ?

Just like you said would happen, some of the lineups from what I'm seeing are slightly different this morning.

If not, not biggie really, and I'll continue to do my studies using mainly the 1st "Projected" Lineup but it would be nice if I could do the same with the Ceiling / Floor

-Cg
This issue was pointed out to me on Reddit, I actually hadn't realized it prior. The fix is simple, not 100% it will be simple to implement, but i think it shouldnt be too difficult. The lineup rewind needs to only gather the data from the DB of days prior to that day. Sounds simple enough, I will see about getting that fixed. Also, I will be working on getting the actual numbers to display on the saved lineups after the day has recorded stats. So you could in theory save all 100 lineups and then go back and review that way as well.
@Dave, that would be amazing... I think you've all proven that you really know what your doing with these projections... I am very pleased with the results that I've seen in my short time here... If I could track the Top 100 of each lineup and compare them over time, that would be simply amazing.

Thanks again for all your hard work fellas

12-10-14 LU Rewind

If you read above, you'll get a better idea of what I'm doing... Going forward, I will only give results for the PROJECTION Lineup, and not the Ceiling / Floor Lineups... I don't have the time to go through the Ceiling / Floor Lineups to figure out what / who / which players changed from Pre Lock Set to the Post Lock "LU Rewind" set.

So, every day, I'll post my "Projected LU" Results

I will hypothetically use all 100 LU's in the $1 Swat... The Min Payout is $3.00... On most days, I will assume that every LU that "cashed" only cashed in at the Min $3.00 even though some will probably finish much higher.

Without further ado, here are the results from 12-10-14

Excluded Players
Tim Duncan
Manu Ginobili
Tony Parker
Mirza Teletovic
Donald Sloan

$1 Swat #2 -- 11,494 entries -- 2,175 cash (18.9%)
*note* i like this GPP because of the 3x min cash line compared to the 2.5x min cash of some of the other GPPs

38/100 Lineups Cashed, so, 38 x $3.00(min) = $114 for a profit of $14 (estimate)

I've got a little extra time this morning, so I'm going to list the cashing lineup scores, and where they finished in the Tourney with the REAL payout...

Scores

259.7 -- 1,665 -- $3.00
277.2 -- 474 -- $4.00
257.6 -- 1,869 -- $3.00
270.3 -- 815 -- $3.00
288.7 -- 186 -- $5.00
260.7 -- 1,572 -- $3.00
273.5 -- 631 -- $3.00
266 -- 1,120 -- $3.00
258.8 -- 1,749 -- $3.00
262.5 -- 1,416 -- $3.00
280.5 -- 368 -- $4.00
282.8 -- 300 -- $5.00
256.9 -- 1,939 -- $3.00
262.1 -- 1,444 -- $3.00
*297.8 (high) -- 67 -- $9.00
281.8 -- 328 -- $4.50
267 -- 1,017 -- $3.00
268 -- 950 -- $3.00
255.6 -- 2,079 -- $3.00
274.6 -- 564 -- $4.00
268 -- 950 -- $3.00
259.5 -- 1,692 -- $3.00
270.2 -- 825 -- $3.00
275.9 -- 533 -- $4.00
273.6 -- 626 -- $4.00
261.3 -- 1,520 -- $3.00
281.5 -- 336 -- $4.00
281.8 -- 328 -- $4.50
264.4 -- 1,253 -- $3.00
255.1 -- 2,143 -- $3.00
271 -- 769 -- $3.00
261.1 -- 1,544 -- $3.00
280.9 -- 352 -- $4.00
258.3 -- 1,807 -- $3.00
257.4 -- 1,882 -- $3.00
292.5 -- 128 -- $7.00
260.1 -- 1,636 -- $3.00
261.7 -- 1,489 -- $3.00

Total = $138, (-)$100 buy in for a profit of $38 bucks...

Not a HUGE amount of money, which is mainly because of the small $1 GPP, but, I think a 38% cash rate in a GPP paying out the Top 18% is pretty damn good... Also, if someone has the BR to use these

Here are a few other Games from yesterday and how these 100 lineups would have done...

$35K Wed NBA Layup -- Min Cash = 261.7 -- $5.00 Buy In -- 25/100 Cashed
$35K Wed NBA Rebound -- Min Cash = 264.9 -- $10.00 Buy in -- 21/100 Cashed
*note* not as good of a return here as the min cash payouts is only 2.5x of the Buy in vs 3x of the $1 Swat

$5 Double Up -- Min Cash = 254.2 -- 38/100 Cashed
$10 Double Up -- Min Cash = 255.4 -- 37/100 Cashed
$25 Double Up -- Min Cash = 255.6 -- 37/100 Cashed

Keep up the AMAZING work fellas, and Ill keep posting daily results like this!

The question then becomes... Do you use, 5 or 10 of the Projected Lineups in your 50/50s? Do you settle on 1 of them? Do you use all 100 of them spread out in all your cash games?

Game selection has always been my down fall I feel...

However, good news though, if you're telling me the Default Projected Lineup will not change...

If you figure a 38% cash rate, in a GPP that pays out the Top 18% I think it would be safe to assume that you could do fairly well, using the Projected Lineup daily in 50/50 and DU games with some good success...

From my numbers, the Floor LU cashes much better, but, since the floor LU could change in the LU Rewind I'm not sure how much it would differ from the default Pre Lock "Floor" LU... I would imagine it would be less than the 57.8% that I have figured above huh?

Good to know.

In theory, do you think the Floor / Ceiling results would change dramatically from Pre Lock to Post Lock Lineup Rewind?

For what its worth... I tried this out today, I used the 1st 10 Lineups from each the Pro/Ceiling/Floor and currently I am cashing about 7/30 so far... I think, If I could have used all 300 unique Lineups I would be in better shape...

My issue there, of course, would be having the time to create 300 unique Lineups lol and trying to track any changes that are sure to happen last minute before lock

Hey fellas,

First of all, I want to thank you for what you've created here... I think you're on the verge of something big...
I've done some number crunching with the NBA Lineup Rewind feature and I'm going to post some of the data I've found here below...

*note* the results are nearly 100% "default" based on the lineups provided by the Lineup Optimizer... The only changes I made at all to the suggested to lineups were due to injury or late scratches...

So, what I did was take a look back at the results from the past few days... I generated 100 lineups for each day, using the projection / ceiling / floor options... Essentially, I created 300 unique lineups each night... The results are below (with questions to follow)

I used the $1 Shot #2 as a reference for these results ($2 shot with 57,000 entries used on 12/3 and 12/4
*note* some lineups finished close to the bubble of the cash line for a minimum return, but, others finished much higher... For argument sake, I'll use the min cash amount for a total winnings number

12/3/14 - $2 Shot 57,000 entries
$2 Shot -- Pro LU -- -- min cash = 290.9 -- 97/100 LU Cashed --
Min $ = $5.00, so, Total = $5.00(97) = $485 - $200 buy in = $185

$2 Shot -- Ceiling LU -- min cash = 290.9 -- 53/100 LU Cashed --
Min $ = $5.00, so, Total = $5.00(53) = $265 - $200 buy in = $65

$2 Shot -- Floor LU -- min cash = 290.9 -- 41/100 LU Cashed --
Min $ = $5.00, so, Total = $5.00(41) = $205 - $200 buy in = $5

Daily totals: Cashed 191/300 (63.67%) for a Profit of $355
(again, this is assuming all lineups were MIN CASH which some were much higher)

12/4/14 - $2 Shot 57,000 entries
$2 Shot -- Pro LU -- min cash score = 255.5 -- 11/100 LU Cashed -- Min $ = $5.00, so, Total = $5.00(11) = $55 - $200 buy in = (-)$145
$2 Shot -- Ceiling LU -- min cash score = 255.5 -- 11/100 LU Cashed -- Min $ = $5.00, so, Total = $5.00(53) = $265 - $200 buy in = (-)$145
$2 Shot -- Floor LU -- min cash score = 255.5 -- 75/100 LU Cashed -- Min $ = $5.00, so, Total = $5.00(75) = $375 - $200 buy in = $175
Daily totals: Cashed 97/300 (32.33%) for a Profit of (-)$115
(again, this is assuming all lineups were MIN CASH which some were much higher)

12/6/14 - $1 Swat #2 13,000 entries
$1 Swat -- Pro LU -- min cash score = 292.4 -- 21/100 LU Cashed -- Min $ = $3.00, so, Total = $3.00(21) = $63 - $100 buy in = (-)$37
$1 Swat -- Ceiling LU -- min cash score = 292.4 -- 30/100 LU Cashed -- Min $ = $3.00, so, Total = $3.00(30) = $90 - $100 buy in = (-)$10
$1 Swat -- Floor LU -- min cash score = 292.4 -- 86/100 LU Cashed -- Min $ = $3.00, so, Total = $3.00(86) = $258 - $100 buy in = $158
Daily totals: Cashed 137/300 (45.67%) for a Profit of $111
(again, this is assuming all lineups were MIN CASH which some were much higher)

12/8/14 - $1 Swat #2 13,000 entries
$1 Swat -- Pro LU -- min cash score = 294.8 -- 37/100 LU Cashed -- Min $ = $3.00, so, Total = $3.00(37) = $111 - $100 buy in = $11
$1 Swat -- Ceiling LU -- min cash score = 294.8 -- 68/100 LU Cashed -- Min $ = $3.00, so, Total = $3.00(30) = $204 - $100 buy in = $104
$1 Swat -- Floor LU -- min cash score = 294.8 -- 0/100 LU Cashed -- Min $ = $3.00, so, Total = $3.00(0) = $0 - $100 buy in = (-)$100
Daily totals: Cashed 105/300 (35%) for a Profit of $15
(again, this is assuming all lineups were MIN CASH which some were much higher)

12/9/14 - $1 Swat #2 13,000 entries
$1 Swat -- Pro LU -- min cash score = 262.2 -- 24/100 LU Cashed -- Min $ = $3.00, so, Total = $3.00(24) = $72 - $100 buy in = (-)$28
$1 Swat -- Ceiling LU -- min cash score = 262.2 -- 0/100 LU Cashed -- Min $ = $3.00, so, Total = $3.00(0) = $0 - $100 buy in = (-)$100
$1 Swat -- Floor LU -- min cash score = 262.2 -- 87/100 LU Cashed -- Min $ = $3.00, so, Total = $3.00(87) = $261 - $100 buy in = $161
Daily totals: Cashed 111/300 (37%) for a Profit of $33
(again, this is assuming all lineups were MIN CASH which some were much higher)

Lineup Totals from Above (sorry I did not play on 12/5/14

Pro LU: 190/500 (38%) = $86.00
Ceiling LU: 162/500 (32.4%) =(-)$86.00
Floor LU: 289/500 (57.8%) = $399.00
Total = 641/1500 (42.73%) = $399 profit

So, as you can see, the Floor LU generated by this Optimizer is pretty solid... I think if it can cash in this GPP anywhere close to 50% than it should do pretty well on a daily basis in Cash Games (50/50, H2H and DU)

Now, here is my question, and this is really important...
I run the optimizer and set my lineups, before lock of course, usually around 5:30pm after the most recent Fantasy Cruncher update... Then the day plays itself out as it does every night for us grinders...
Then the following morning, I will log onto the Fantasy Cruncher and run the previous nights lineups to see how they "would have done" if I had played all 300...

My question is... The next morning, will the same 100 lineups be generated in the LINEUP REWIND that were Generated BEFORE Lock the Day Before??? Assuming I make the same exclusions as I made prior to lock, then the LINEUP REWIND should in fact give me the same set of lineups correct?

Basically, I'm trying to figure out if these numbers are anywhere close to accurate? Or, if I just wasted a few hours of my time haha

sorry about the formatting
