DraftKings & FanDuel LoL DFS Rundown (MSI) – May 11, 2022

Evil Geniuses (EG) vs. ORDER (ORD) (4:50 AM EST) (-850 EG)

To kick off the slate both teams will look to rebound from a one-game loss at the start of the event. The objective has been off to a poor start for both teams but EG managed to have one dragon in their game while ORD ended up with none. Therefore, slaying may be the first thing capitalized for either side in this matchup. Inspired of EG leads the way in damage at 35.4% (out of both teams) which should help him prevail in jungle lane and in other battles. However, with ORDER being more consistent in slaying as a team with everyone above 1+ KDA’s this may put more pressure on Inspired to lead with his teammate/top-laner in Impact being the only player starting off the event slightly under a 1 KDA. That being said the battle between top lanes may become more important for EG to succeed but with Impact having more kill-participation (60%) than opposing top-laner BioPanther, he may be able to contribute to his team even if he doesn’t perform as well. All in all, since EG has the objective advantage at this point they should be able to win here.

Detonation FM (DFM) vs. Saigon Buffalo (SGB) (5:40 AM EST) (-152 DFM)

DFM enter this match trying to extend their one-game winning streak against a SGB squad that is coming off a loss to start the event. If SGB enters this game obtaining no baron kills this may put them in a deficit early and likely to be out slayed due to DFM obtaining baron in their previous game. The increased baron would just boost Evi/Yaharong’s chances of dominating as they start the event with 7 KDA’s. Evi may benefit more though since he’s dealing more damage of the two at the moment for DFM. Unfortunately, for SGB they have three players under a 1 KDA so there’s a possibility they’ll struggle in battles regardless, but if they’re unable to get baron again they may lose momentum early in this match.

Team AZE (AZE) vs. T1 Esports (T1) (6:30 AM EST) (-1900 T1)

T1 started off the event with dominant slaying across the board and even from their support player in Keria having close to a double-digit KDA. This may already put AZE into some trouble with the majority of the team being under a 1 KDA, especially with their support having a 0.3 KDA. This should automatically benefit the highest damage dealer in Gumayusi (27.7%) in the attack damage carry role, along with his teammate Oner who has started off as the most efficient player in the jungle lane (12 KDA). That being said this may end up being the most one of the more one-sided matchups on the slate.

Istanbul Wildcats (IW) vs. Red Canids (RED) (7:20 AM EST) (-145 IW)

RED has been the second strongest mid-lane team in this event so far and this happens to be one of IW’s weaknesses (-3.0 rate compared to RED’s 31.9). This benefits Grevthar’s chances of performing well for RED against the majority of opposing mid-laners. In addition, RED was able to obtain baron in their previous game so if they’re able to do so again the bonus damage/abilities will make it even more difficult for IW to win the majority of their battles in-game. The pressure would be put on the attack-damage carry of IW Holyphoenix who has been the most efficient for IW, but may not be able to carry the load by himself due to the rest of his teammates not slaying anywhere in range of the RED players.

Royal Never Give Up (RNG) vs. PSG Talon (PSG) (8:00 AM EST) (-383 RNG)

To conclude the slate, RNG will look to extend their one-game winning-streak and are currently the team with the highest early-game rating (97). PSG may also struggle with the fact they have the worst mid-lane in the league right now at -31.9. This bodes well for xiaohu who has been the most consistent slayer at the moment for RNG with a 10 KDA. The lack of slaying on PSG may cause them to struggle even more objectively with no players above a 1 KDA in their roles at the moment. Despite, the first-tower rate being an even 100% rate for both teams PSG will need a lot more to put up a fight.
