Cincinnati @ Kansas City (-7), Projected Total: 54.5 points

Cincinnati – Projected Total: 23.75 points

The Bengals come into this one as large underdogs as they head to Arrowhead for a rematch of the Week 17 thrilled that saw JaMarr Chase put up a 11-266-3 line.  There are two main questions for this one:

  1. Will the Bengals be able to protect Burrow after giving up nine sacks a week ago
  2. Will the Chiefs be able to limit the damage done by Chase

I think pass protection will continue to be an issue for Cincinnati – but not enough to completely remove the threat of the Bengals passing attack.  The price point on the key cogs through the air for Cincinnati are quite attractive, and for me, I do like Chase’s chances of hitting value in this one at his price point.  I think that Burrow and Chase are elite plays, while the likes of Higgins, Tyler Boyd and Uzomah are secondary plays for the short two game slate here.

As for the ground game, RB Joe Mixon is a great option this week.  He should see 20+ touches in this one and with his usage in the passing game, he is a high floor/high ceiling option in a game that looks like it should be a shoot-out.  He’s a fantastic option this week and on The Cruncher List.

The Cruncher List

  • QB Joe Burrow
  • RB Joe Mixon
  • WR JaMarr Chase

Good Plays

  • WR Tee Higgins
  • WR Tyler Boyd
  • TE CJ Uzomah

Kansas City – Projected total: 30.75 points

The Chiefs have the highest projected total on the slate by a wide margin and will be very popular here in a game that should be very high scoring.  QB Patrick Mahomes, WR Tyreek Hill and TE Travis Kelce are all elite options here this week (shocking, I know…)  From a roster construction standpoint, I like the idea of pivoting to Burrow from Mahomes for single entry to free up cash and hope that the game stays close and sees plenty of points go up on the board through the air.  Hill finally looked like himself last week in the win over Buffalo – and I think he’s a fantastic high priced option as a pivot off of Cooper Kupp to free up some salary.

In the backfield, we saw Clyde Edwards-Helaire return last week and he looked very strong getting 60 yards on his 9 carries.  I think we’ll continue to see a split here with him and McKinnon – and I like the upside relative to the price point with McKinnon for what he’s shown in the passing game over the past couple of weeks.  I have him on The Cruncher List as a value option this week, while CEH has more risk to me.

WR Byron Pringle and WR Mecole Hardman are worth mixing into your builds in large field GPP MME formats – with my preference between the two if forced to choose being Pringle.

The Cruncher List

  • QB Patrick Mahomes
  • RB Jerick McKinnon
  • WR Tyreek Hill
  • TE Travis Kelce

Good Plays

  • WR Byron Pringle
  • Chiefs DST

San Francisco @ LA Rams (-3), Projected total: 45.5 points

San Francisco – Projected Total: 21.25 points

The 49ers come into this one with the lowest projected total out of the four teams this week, and outside of a couple of options – I don’t have too much interest here.  WR Deebo Samuel will be an interesting pivot off of Kupp/Hill/Chase as a high priced WR.  I love the game theory approach to him here, though I do prefer the other three straight up.  I have him as an elite play this week.  If the 49ers have any chance of putting points up on the board, it’s hard to envision them doing that without Deebo hitting value in this one and being one of the better plays on the board.

RB Eli Mitchell is the other option here that has some appeal to me.  The defensive front of the Rams isn’t an easy one – but I do like Mitchell’s chances of having a productive day in this one.  He narrowly misses the cut for me for The Cruncher List – but I do think he’s worth a fair number of line-ups in large field GPP formats.

Outside of that, I don’t have too much interest here.  TE George Kittle has passed the 30 yard mark once in the past five games and seems to be an afterthought in the passing attack for the Niners of late.  The price point on him is reasonable – but I do prefer Kelce on the slate.

The Cruncher List

  • WR Deebo Samuel

Good Plays

  • RB Eli Mitchell
  • TE George Kittle

LA Rams – Projected Total: 24.25 points

The Rams are small home favourites in this one and going up against a tough defence, I don’t have too much interest in too many options here, even on the short slate.

WR Cooper Kupp is an elite option who should continue to be leaned on heavily by Stafford through the air and is an elite play if you can fit him into build at his price point.  He had a few quiet games (for his standards this season) before putting up a 9-183-1 line in last week’s win over the Bucs.

I prefer the QB’s in game one to Stafford here, which is enough to keep him off of The Cruncher List for me.  I think he’s worth mixing into builds in large field MME formats, but I wouldn’t go nuts with exposure.  I’d be highly surprised if the winning QB wasn’t from the AFC game.

For a mid-priced WR, I love the spot for Odell Beckham Jr. in this one.  He’s priced reasonably and has been heavily involved in the aerial attack for the Rams of late.  He’s fresh off an eight target game against Tampa, and using a guy in his price range is pretty attractive from a roster construction standpoint – so I have him on The Cruncher List here.

Finally – as for the ground game, I assume RB Cam Akers will continue to get the bulk of the touches for the Rams and at his price, he’s a great option here.  There is some risk if he loses touches from his fumbles a week ago (or in this one if he puts the ball on the turf again) – but he’s priced reasonably enough that the tough match-up and risk is worth it for his salary, in my opinion.

The Cruncher List

  • RB Cam Akers
  • WR Cooper Kupp
  • WR Odell Beckham Jr

Good Plays

  • QB Matthew Stafford
  • TE Tyler Higbee
  • Rams DST
