Week 12 NFL DFS Quarterbacks (QB) Targets For FanDuel & DraftKings

Welcome to the FC Insights Quarterback Targets Article. In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays at the QB position for each DFS week of the 2021-2022 NFL DFS season.

Thanksgiving Slate

Andy Dalton ($7,200 FD, $ 5,500 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Passing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Passing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to QBs
Lions 22.25 236.2 17 17.45

On the Thanksgiving Slate, I expect most people will flock towards Josh Allen who is uber expensive, and Dak Prescott who is expected to be without both CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper. While I don’t mind rostering either of those players I am going to avoid the chalk by rostering Dalton. Dalton is going to get the start with Justin Fields out and did not look half bad in his half or so of playing time against the Ravens. Dalton threw for 201 yards and two scores in that game on his way to 16.04 fantasy points. This week with a whole game to work with and a solid match-up against the Lions I don’t see why Dalton couldn’t have similar production or even better production in this one.

Main Slate Top Plays

Jalen Hurts ($8,400 FD, $7,300 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Passing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Passing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to QBs
Giants 24.50 255.7 18 18.03

I am not rostering Hurts for his passing numbers. Hurts is only passing the ball about 20 times a game give or take currently and has only thrown for over 200 yards once in his past seven games. What I am rostering Hurst for is his rushing ability. Hurts has at least 50 yards rushing in five straight games and has at least 35 yards rushing in each game this season. Hurts has also been the Eagles’ best red zone rushing option as he has six rushing touchdowns on the season. Hurts rushing ability has allowed him to produce at least 19 fantasy points in all but two games this season.

Justin Herbert ($7,800 FD, $6,600 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Passing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Passing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to QBs
Broncos 24.50 218.1 13 14.98

At first glance, the Broncos are not a team that you should roster quarterbacks against as they have allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position this season. The Broncos also rank in the top five in the fewest passing touchdowns allowed and in the top ten in the fewest passing yards allowed per game. With that being said when you really dig into the numbers of the Broncos you will see that they really benefited from playing bad quarterbacks. The Broncos have faced Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Ben Roethlisberger, Case Keenum, and Taylor Heinicke in five of their ten games. Those five quarterbacks have not put up great numbers this season and are a big reason why the Broncos’ fantasy points look the way they do. Instead of focusing on those numbers, I am looking at the numbers they allowed to the likes of Daniel Jones, Lamar Jackson, Derek Carr, Dak Prescott, and Jalen Hurts. Each of those five quarterbacks produced at least 19 fantasy points against the Broncos. Herbert is certainly in a class with each of those quarterbacks and is miles better than at least three of those quarterbacks. That makes me believe Herbert who has at least 34 fantasy points in two of his last three games can but up another huge outing this week.

Main Slate Value Plays

Trevor Lawrence ($6,700 FD, $5,400 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Passing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Passing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to QBs
Falcons 22.75 239.0 20 20.32

Lawrence is likely to bust this week as has not thrown a touchdown pass in three straight games and has produced under 14 fantasy points in four straight games. I am telling you this to fair warn anyone who is going to go down this deep dark road with rostering Lawrence with me this week. I am going to be rostering even though I shouldn’t due to the elite of elite match-ups against the Falcons. The Falcons have allowed the fourth-most passing touchdowns this season and second-most fantasy points per game to the position. If there ever was time for Lawrence to finally show why he is Trevor F’ing Lawrence it is this week.

Tyrod Taylor ($7,400 FD, $5,300 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Passing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Passing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to QBs
Jets 23.25 282.2 17 18.64

For those of you not brave enough to roster Trevor Lawrence this week but are still looking for a cheaper quarterback this week might I interest you in Taylor. Taylor has played in three games this season start to finish and has produced at least 19 fantasy points in two of those games. The one game he didn’t hit that mark was in his first game back against a tough Dolphins defense. This week Taylor should have no issues continuing his strong play as he takes on a Jets team that is ripe for the picking. The Jets have allowed the most passing yards per game this season and tenth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.
