DraftKings CS:GO Esports DFS Rundown (IEM) – October 9, 2021

Team Vitality (VIT) v.s. Ninjas In Pyjamas (11:00 AM EST) (-138 VIT)

The two best snipers on the slate face off and the winner of that duel will have a large impact on which team will win this game. NIP is also on the longest winning streak right now (9) while VIT tries to defend their two-game streak. Between the main snipers of device and ZywOo, ZywOo has been the more efficient with a 1.36 K/D compared to device’s 1.14 K/D. Therefore, this may put NIP at risk of losing their streak.  This would also put more pressure on hampus of NIP to perform well since he has the most damage averaged per round out of both teams at 84.7 lately. Also, due to his 0.99 K/D it may be hard to rely on hampus to deal that damage consistently but he did average the most damage against VIT the last time these teams faced off (which resulted in a victory) and that was without device. In other words, if NIP is able to contain/slow down ZywOo once again like the last time they faced off NIP may just be able to maintain their win streak.

Movistar Riders (MR) v.s. Copenhagen Flames (CPHF) (11:00 AM EST) (-180 CPHF)

Both of these teams are coming off losses in which they were dominated by the opposing sniper so that may put pressure on the main sniper of either team to make kills easier for their team this time around. As of late nicoodoz has had the more accurate shot (31.5% headshote rate) versus SunPayus’ 28.4% which should benefit CPHF in the majority of the sniper duels. On the other hand, MR has won 3 of the 4 games these teams faced off in this year. Nicoodoz was one of the most efficient players on his team though with a +4 kill-death differential and MR no longer has a player on their lineup that had a +58 kill-differential across those games which is a huge loss. Therefore, there shouldn’t be a surprise here if MR is unable to continue their win-streak against CPHF if their top slayer in SunPayus will potentially get slowed down.

Team ENCE (ENCE) v.s. Astralis (ASTRA) (2:00 PM EST)

The win rates are extremely close in this matchup with ENCE having a 65.2% edge over ASTRA with a 65%. ENCE were able to sweep ASTRA the last time these teams met 2-0 and it was done mostly by hades with a +23 kill-death differential. Hades also should have the edge in his sniper duels again this time as he averages 72.5 damage per round as of late and 0.10 assists per round compared to Lucky of ASTRA who has had 64.7 damage per round and 0.09 assists per round. This should set hades up to help his team more which should worry ASTRA because he isn’t the top slayer for his team. Spinx of ENCE happens to average the same K/D as hades at 1.17 and has been dealing more damage at 80.1. This may also end up forcing dupreeh to perform well again since he was the top slayer for ASTRA in the previous game these teams had but he is at a damage disadvantage which could cause ASTRA to struggle overall since he’s the most relied on slayer at the moment.

G2 Esports (G2) v.s. Fiend (FND) (2:00 PM EST)

As both teams try to recover from their one game losing streak, FND has the higher win-rate at the moment at 65% compared to G2’s 44.4%. With the team dynamic of G2 slightly changing as of late (which could be for the better as they climb up the rankings), AmaNek has steadily become the main sniper for the team which is significant because G2 didn’t necessarily have a main sniper in the past. However, he is at a disadvantage here dealing less damage per round (64.8) versus the opposing main sniper in h4rn who has a higher K/D of 1.17 as of late and more damage per round at 73.6. With G2 being familiar of not relying on a sniper it’ll be interesting to see how they counter h4rn. NiKo of G2 has still been the most consistent/most relied upon slayer with a 1.20 K/D as of late and 87.9 damage per round which is the most on either team. Therefore, G2’s success here will depend heavily on NiKo’s performance and as shown from their last loss with NiKo struggling, and their last win with NiKo being the top slayer his contributions will be crucial.
