DraftKings Xfinity NASCAR DFS – Food City 300 – September 17, 2021

Core Plays

Austin Cindric – DK: $11,200 – Starting 9th

We head to Bristol this weekend for a track that usually produces some high variance results. Again, we get a week with no practice and no live qualifying which makes us lean on historical results and recent history/form a little more heavily than we would like to week-to-week. In 25 races this season, Austin Cindric has 18 top-1o finishes and five wins. Over his last four races at Bristol, he has a 6th, 5th, 36th (accident), and 3rd place finish. The third-place finish came with 42 laps led and 39 of the fastest laps and came in September of last year. Cindric is a 4.5-1 favorite to win this weekend but also gets the furthest back starting spot of the top-three favored drivers this week so we can grab a little differential and get a little bit more wiggle room. Ty Gibbs is the only other more expensive option on this slate but he is a viable option starting third. Gibbs has really taken this circuit by storm, with three wins and nine top-10 finishes in just 13 races. Both of these guys were really interchangeable in this top spot based around form. Gibbs will gain some experience on the track by racing in the Arca race. It will be very hard to get both of these guys in your lineup, but it wouldn’t shock me to see them both optimal. That being said, Bristol is a track that can get a little chippy with it being just a half-mile in size.

Jeffery Earnhardt – DK: $5,400 – Starting 29th

While we are entering the tail end of the season, my tune isn’t changing at all when it comes to Xfinity value and if you read this article weekly then you already know what I am going to say. The cheap options in Xfinity are never safe, they often bust, and we are just looking for someone to do completely average and finish the race. I know that doesn’t sound too strategic, but very often is there any equipment at the lower-tier that can legitimately compete over the course of an entire race. In 21 races on the year, Earnhardt has no top-1o finishes, but is averaging a finish of 25th and 18.9 fantasy points per race. While that number doesn’t sound that impressive it actually is the best we can do for drivers with over 20 races at this tier. In Earnhardt’s last two races at Bristol he has finished 17th and 15th. With the variance at the track, we will take a 15th place finish from a 29th starting spot any day of the week. Of course, no locks here, but this price helps roster the top options this week.
