KRU Esports (KRU) v.s. ZETA Division (ZETA) (9:00 AM EST) (-138 KRU)

To begin the slate the #1 LATAM challenger team (KRU) clashes with the #1 Japan team in ZETA which should make an intense match. Both teams are currently on win streaks as well (KRU– two, ZETA– four) so both are entering with some momentum. NagZet of KRU is the top slayer out of both teams at the moment with a 1.52 KD and could cause a lot of havoc as a main sniper for his team and Jett main, which will make him evasive with the weapon and annoyance on maps. The closest counter on ZETA would be Reita who also is the Jett main/sniper of his team but currently averages less damage per round (144 vs NagZet’s 152.7) which bodes well more for KRU, but has potential to go back and forth. As both snipers clash there will need to be someone else to step up and take advantage of the kills being made easier by their anchor. That may end up being Keznit of KRU who averages the most damage out of both teams (171.4) as the main entry-fragger (Raze mainly) which may give KRU just enough edge that they need to prevail.

G2 Esports (G2) v.s. Sentinels (SEN) (12:00 PM EST) (-370 SEN)

The number one team in the world in SEN finally play their first match of the weekend and it’s against the #4 seeded team from the EMEA in G2. Former teammates in TenZ and mixwell now face off which could make things interesting as they probably inform their teams of each other’s tendencies. SEN have been on a tear with an eight-game win-streak while G2 are coming off one win in their last match. TenZ has been the most reliable slayer of SEN with a current 1.38 KD and mainly a Jett main (with occasional sniping) which could make him very dangerous in gunfights. On the other hand, nukkye of G2 could end up slowing down TenZ a bit with the highest average damage per round (168.3), but TenZ has the entry success rate edge (67% versus nukkye’s 58%) which puts more pressure on mixwell who is the next efficient slayer on G2 with a 1.3 KD as the main initiator/healer for his team. The next best person for SEN with potential to counter/top frag would be SicK who happens to be one of the most versatile players in the league with a pool full of agents in his arsenal (and healer also known as Battle Sage) with his ability to take over for his team not just TenZ. Regardless, this may end up being one of the closer matches on the slate, although SEN are projected to win (86% compared to G2’s 14%).

Gambit Esports (GAMBI) v.s. 100 Thieves (100T) (3:00 PM EST) (-115 GAMBI)

GAMBI enter this match off a dominant series win yesterday, but now have a tougher obstacle against 100T who also just had a dominant recent match. GAMBI is also the #1 seeded team from the EMEA while 100T is the #2 seeded team in NA. Moreover, GAMBI may have the perfect opportunity to extend their five-game win-streak with the team overall K/D advantage of 1.25 versus 100T’s 1.1 KD. Sheydos of GAMBI has been able to maintain his high K/D (1.5) and coming off a +18 kill-death differential and may end up being 100T’s main problem especially as the main healer on his team (Sage/Skye), especially if he manages to stay alive the most during rounds/help keep his teammates alive longer in battle. Hiko of 100T, would have to take advantage as the recon main for his team and get information early (on Sova mainly) before initiating gunfights to help lead his team to victory as they technically enter this match as the underdogs. Unfortunately, for 100T, GAMBI have two players with early success rates above 60 while 100T has only one in Hiko so the window of opportunity early in rounds will be small and Hiko’s abilities will be crucial here. All in all, there wouldn’t be surprise if 100T gets shut down here, but only time will tell.
