The WNBA Rundown – FanDuel & DraftKings WNBA DFS Picks – June 5, 2021 (6/5/21)
In this article, we will be breaking down some of our favorite plays on the slate at their positions. Remember to always keep your eye on the news as the day progresses.
Te’a Cooper- Cooper is one of my favorite value plays on this slate due to all the injuries the Sparks are dealing with right now. The Sparks are down several starters including both Ogwumike sisters. The Sparks injuries has lead to the second-year player starting the past two games for the Sparks. Cooper has not only started the past two games but she has also played well. In those games, Cooper is averaging 13.5 points, two rebounds, two assists, and 19.4 fantasy points.
Kelsey Plum- Plum only played 13 minutes in her return to the Aces which really killed my lineups as I was very high on her but I am not going to let that game deter me from rostering her again today. There are a couple of reasons I am not letting that game deter me from Plum today. The first of those reasons is I doubt she only plays 13 minutes again today. The Aces played it safe in her return but she should be back to her normal 25 or so minutes in this one. Another reason is due to Plum’s usage rate. Plum had a usage rate of 25.6% in that game against the Liberty and now has had a usage rate of at least 24% in two of her three games. The match-up against the Mystics is also one that I am high on as they give up the second-most assists per game and have allowed the second-highest three-point percentage this season.
Nia Coffey- I like both Coffey and Amanda Zahui B today with the Ogwumike sisters out but if I could only roster one of the two it would be Coffey. The reason why is Coffey has just played better than Zahui B has especially over her past three games. In those three games, Coffey has played at least 28 minutes and is averaging 12 points, 3.7 rebounds, an assist, 1.3 steals, and 3.3 blocks. Coffey has 29 fantasy points in two of those three games including a game against the Sky who the Sparks play again today.
Rebecca Allen- It is hard to get the Liberty forwards right slate to slate as they don’t seem to have set rotations. With that being said I really like Allen. Allen has played at least 20 minutes in four of the Liberty’s past five games and has at least 20 fantasy points in three of those games. The minutes should be there once again for Allen especially with Natasha Howard out for the foreseeable future. While the match-up is not the best in the world I also don’t see why Allen cannot produce in the 20 fantasy point range once again.
Jonquel Jones- Lot’s of great forwards on this slate including Tina Charles who is a steal on FanDuel but none of the forwards can touch Jones. Jones has been a beast all season long averaging 20.6 points per game which is the fifth-most in the WNBA, 10.1 rebounds per game which is the most in the WNBA, three assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.2 blocks. Jones has at least 31 fantasy points in each of her games and is averaging 41.4 fantasy points per game which is the most on this slate. What I really like about Jones today is the match-up with the Liberty. The Liberty have been a surprise team this season but they don’t have an answer for Jones and struggle defensively. This season the Liberty have allowed the fourth-most points per game, second-most rebounds per game, and third-most points per game in the paint.
