DraftKings CoD Core Plays and Cheat Sheet (CDL) – April 29, 2021
NY Subliners v.s. LON Royal Ravens (Thu 3:00 PM) (-370 NYSL)
NYSL’s new squad (the addition of HyDra from their NYSL Academy squad) is showing a lot of potential especially after upsetting the arguably top team in the league ATL in their previous matchup. They’ll now be facing off with a team trying to regain their chemistry in LON. During their last faceoff in Stage 2 NYSL was able to become victorious but this was when both teams had a different fourth player on their squad. However, Clayster was the most efficient player for NYSL in that win with a 1.04 K/D while the rest of his teammates ended up under a 1 kill-death differential rate. On the other end, Paulehx was the highest slayer for LON with a 1.17 K/D. As of right now for Stage 3 Clayster has already been leading the way for his team with a 1.14 K/D while Paulehx is also leading with a .97 K/D. Therefore, more than likely this game will come down to how well the rifle mains do for their squad and whoever can do better in the search and destroy gametype. LON is currently 0-2 in S&D which may come back to haunt them if they are unable to pick up their slack for that specific gametype. Fortunately, for NYSL they are 1-1 but to beat a team with the caliber of ATL they more than likely will enter this matchup with more confidence especially due to the fact they already dominated LON in the past stage.
ATL FaZe v.s. LA Thieves (Thu 4:30 PM) (-525 ATL)
ATL is surprisingly having a rough start and 1-2 with respawn gametypes while their opponents in LAT today are 4-2. LAT is currently on a two-game win streak and will be looking for revenge against their powerhouse opponent. ATL destroyed LAT in their previous matchup in Stage 2 with a 3-0 sweep but that was with LAT’s previous teammate Slasher instead of their current rifle main Drazah. Abezy went nuclear last mathcup and had a 1.68 K/D while being complemented well by his assault rifle teammates Arcitys/Cellium. Sadly for LAT, Slasher was the most efficient player in their last matchup so Drazah will have to do even better now that he is in that rifle position for LAT and I believe this will be a true test for LAT now that they had some more time to develop chemistry with the new squad. Kenny is playing out of his mind right now for LAT and has a 1.39 K/D at the flex role for his squad but Kenny and Drazah slowing down their opposing assault rifle mains in Arcitys/Cellium will be crucial in order for them to get their revenge.
TOR Ultra v.s. LA Guerillas (Fri 3:00 PM) (-238 TOR)
TOR has been firing off on all cylinders and have yet to drop a map to anyone so far this stage. The fact that the defending Major champs are only getting better will just make it more difficult for everyone else in the league. However, LAG is off to the right start with the acquisition of Cheen which many people in the community questioned it but seems to have worked well for them so far especially after sweeping their opponent in their last series. This match has potential to go down to the wire again like their previous matchup which TOR won 3-2. Depending on how Silly adjusts to his new role switch will be interesting to see since he was the one carrying the majority of the load for his team in the previous matchup for LAG but he isn’t slaying as much now this stage and is the only player on his team under a 1 K/D at the moment. On the other hand, sadly for LAG their worst nightmare it seems in Insight dominated last time they played and had a 1.32 K/D. Moreover, Insight continues to get even better and has a current K/D of 1.36. Cammy has also been applying the most damage to opponents for his team (TOR) so far in respawn gametypes (6150 damage) and is Insight’s assault rifle duo which could be trouble for LAG. Moreover, Assault will have to maintain his high damage in respawn gametypes (6285) and if complemented well by his new assault rifle duo Cheen this can be anyone’s game.
MIN ROKKR v.s. PAR Legion (Fri 4:30 PM) (-268 MIN)
Both teams will be entering this match looking to rebound after a recent loss but MIN may have the slight upper hand being 2-1 in respawn gametypes while PAR Is 1-3. MIN was able to sweep PAR in the previous stage at the beginning and without their best player at the moment Standy which is not a good sign for PAR. Slaying out did not seem to be the problem for PAR as the whole team had above 1 K/D’s last time so it will come down to if PAR can play the objective better with their newly acquired teammate Temp. Accuracy was the only player on MIN with a K/D above 1 so he will more than likely be anchoring well as the assault rifle main for his team again especially having the most damage currently on repspawn gametypes for his squad (8152). However, Skrapz will be the one to duel with Accuracy most times on the map due to also being an assault rifle main and having the most damage on his team (in respawn gametypes) currently. That being said if PAR can get their act together with objectives they may have a chance of getting the win but this match can go either way and more than likely may not end up being a sweep again.
