DraftKings Xfinity NASCAR DFS – Call 811 Before You Dig 200 – March 13, 2021

Core Plays

Ty Gibbs – DK: $8,900 – Starting 27th

What is a better way to start your Xfinity career than winning your first race? That is exactly what Ty Gibbs did at the Daytona Road Course a few weeks back, as Gibbs started 15th and took the checkered flag – leading 14 laps and having 13 of the fastest. We don’t have a ton of data on Gibbs at this level, but we do have some at the ARCA level which he raced at last year. Last March in the ARCA Series, Gibbs had the fastest practice times at Phoenix and ended up finishing third, being bested by Chandler Smith. There are a lot of positives to focus on with this youngster, and the fact that he still feels kind of under-priced here and gets a 27th starting positon, gives us upside for differential and price savings all at once. I do expect the price to push this play into a chalky territory and we need to remember this is just an 18-year-old driver so facing tough competition could force him into some mistakes.

David Starr – DK: $5,300 – Starting 37th

I will be the first to admit that there surely isn’t anything flashy here about rostering David Starr. In the three races he has run this year, Starr has an average finish of 29th with an average start of 36th. This is a small incremental differential upside, but with a basement price tag it’s one to consider. November of last year at Phoenix, Starr finished 16th after starting 29th and in his career at Phoenix has an average finish of 25th over 12 career races. I speak often about how finding the knock-out value in the bottom tier of pricing is pretty difficult. We run a severe chance of DNF’s in the Xfinity Series and a lot of these lower-tier guys won’t see the checkered flag. Stefan Parson’s is another guy I like in this range, along with JJ Yeley and Gray Gaulding.
