DraftKings & FanDuel LoL Cheat Sheet – LPL/LCK – August 2, 2020 (8/2/20)

Helping you build the best DraftKings & FanDuel League of Legends lineup for the 8/2/2020 eSports DFS slate.

ALERT ALERT – Five game LPL/LCK slate on tap!

Damwon opens as the largest slate favorite at -1675 and gets some interesting pricing against HLE. Nuguri is the most expensive top at $7,000 while Ghost is the fifth most expensive ADC at $7,600. The rest of the roster is the second most expensive at position. So this tells me a few things, either the five game slate format is changing some things with how DK is pricing players, or they are trying to spread prices to make it more difficult to stack. Last nights best lineup was a 4-1-1-1 stack, which is not something we see take first a lot, but with pricing reaching the $8,200 and $8,400 ranges on some guys, this is the necessary process to get exposure to those players. Damwon is far and beyond my favorite team on this slate and when they matched with HLE a month ago it was an easy 2-0 sweep.

Typically I would break down the matchups that needed breaking down, but this slate really feels kind of straight forward. TES vs. RNG could be interesting, but TES is still the better team here. We saw them 2-0 sweep Suning a few days ago when TES did not look all that great. But that is the kicker, they didn’t look great and they still found a way to sweep. TES has a seven kill and 7k gold deficit at the 30-minute mark and still managed to win. RNG is a middle of the pack team who has dropped series to every top tier in the league, though did manage to get to three games against WE, FPX, SN, and IG. I think there is a chance RNG takes a game here, but TES in three games may have a higher ceiling as they typically don’t get absolutely blown out in losses. TES at just $5,400 at the team position can save you an instant $600 if you are instead playing Damwon. JackeyLove is also just $7,800 (“just”) but it is a discount from his normal $8,000 price tag. Karsa is the most elite value here being $800 cheaper than the most expensive Jungler. TES has only lost six games all season.

JDG may actually end up being my second most used team on this slate when they take on V5. V5 has been up and down a bit recently, but still presenting themselves as one of the best in the LPL. However, JDG is a whole another beast altogether as they are on an 11-game winning streak. JDG has dropped a few games here and there but stand at 25-9 in total games on the season. V5 benched SamD last series in place of y4 and it remains to be seen who grabs the start tonight. The only real takeaway needed here is the elite savings we get on the best team in the LPL as JDG players come in as the fifth most expensive TOP, third most expensive JNG, fifth for MID, and fifth for ADC. This will likely be the chalk stack of the night and there is a bit of a worry with the slower game that V5 has played recently but in the end JDG’s ceiling is just too high to ignore at price here.

In the last two games, I think WE handles ES, though WE is priced to a ridiculous level that forces them out of the player pool a bit (Jiumeng at $8,400 what are you doing DK). T1 is a team I think should be avoided right now. We are not sure if they move back to Faker at MID or continue to play Clozer. Regardless, T1 has shown a frustratingly low ceiling recently that can be ignored tonight even if they win 2-0. I also will be taking a jab at a few Sandbox players against them as FATE and Route have shown high ceilings in wins (though their wins usually come against worse talent).

The full cheat sheet below details the plays that we are liking on the slate, and who will be in our core player pool(s) and groups for the day.
