Welcome to the Daily Rundown for FanDuel for KBO DFS contests on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.
After taking Tuesday’s slate of games off for scheduled maintenance FanDuel is back for Wednesday’s five-game slate.
Pitcher to Target
Today’s pitchers are listed below courtesy of mykbostats.com:
Top Pitcher – Casey Kelly ($25)
Kelly is the easy top choice on this slate after his monster game in his last start. In that start, Kelly pitched six scoreless innings with ten strikeouts on his way to 58 fantasy points. After that performance, Kelly now has a FIP of 2.53 and a K/9 rate of nine in his four starts. Kelly has not only pitched well this season but the match-up against the Lions is also a nice one. The Lions rank middle of the pack in runs scored and have the third-lowest batting average this season. The odds are also squarely in Kelly’s favor as he is the largest favorite to pick up the win at 68.5% and the Lions are projected for the lowest run total on this slate at 3.36 runs.
GPP Pitcher- Adrian Sampson ($24)
Sampson was not good in his first start for the Giants after missing the start of the season to be with his ailing father but I am expecting him to bounce back in a huge way in this outing. There are two reasons I am expecting Sampson to bounce back. The first of those reasons is Sampson has major league experience. We have seen time and time again that pitchers with major league experience tend to do well in the KBO. The second reason I like Sampson to bounce back today is due to his match-up against the Tigers. The Tigers are averaging the fourth-fewest runs per game and have hit the fifth-fewest home runs to start the season.
Stack to Target
Top Stack- KT Wiz
I expect most fantasy players are going to be on the other side of this game as the Wiz take on the Doosan Bears who are coming off an 11 run explosion yesterday and are already the most popular team to stack most slates. While I like the Bears and their projected 6.56 run total today the Wiz to me are a better option. The Wiz not only should be lower owned but they actually have been better than the Bears this season. The Wiz comes into today’s match-up ranking second in the KBO in runs per game, third in home runs hit, and first in batting average. The match-up with Yong Chan Lee is also one I want to exploit. In his four starts, this season Lee has an ERA of 8.72, a WHIP of 1.75, and has allowed five home runs. The ERA and home runs allowed are the worst in the KBO among qualified pitchers while his WHIP is fifth-worst. While I like almost everyone on the Wiz today the three hitters I am going to prioritize the most are as follows:
- OF Jeong-Dae Bae ($8)- Bae has hit safely in 18 of his past 19 games and is hitting .379. Bae also has 15 RBIs and 14 runs scored in his 24 games.
- OF Mel Rojas Jr. ($15)- Rojas has been one of if not the best hitter in the KBO. This season Rojas is fourth in batting average at .408, second in home runs with seven, first in runs scored with 22, and fourth in RBIs with 23. Rojas is averaging 16.2 fantasy points per game which is the third-highest mark in the KBO.
- OF Yong- Ho Jo ($8)- Jo is hitting .429 with an on-base percentage of .513 this season. Jo has at least three hits and 18.6 fantasy points in each of his past two games and has scored double-digit fantasy points in four of his past six games.
GPP Stack- Hanwha Eagles
Whenever I stack the Eagles I always feel a little nauseous as they have been god awful to start the season. The Eagles are averaging a pathic 3.58 runs per game which are last in the KBO while also ranking dead last in batting average at .242. The Eagles also have hit the second-fewest home runs while striking out the second-most times. Why in the world am I telling you the Eagles would be a great GPP stack today? Well, the answer is simple. Besides the fact that they are likely to carry very low ownership, I really like the match-up for them against the unknown Young Gun Jo. Jo has faced a total of ten batters in his KBO career and in those ten batters he has allowed three runs on three hits with four walks. I don’t expect Jo to last very long in this one and runs tend to get scored when teams go to their bullpens in the KBO. I also love the fact that as a whole the Eagles are cheap which will allow you to stack them with a team like the Doosan Bears or KT Wiz who have some expensive hitters on their roster.
- OF Yong-Kyu Lee ($8)- Lee should be at the top of the Eagles lineup tonight and leads the team in batting average at .304.
- OF Jared Hoying ($10)- Hoying has not been good to start the season but did average 24 home runs and 91.5 RBIs in his first two seasons in the KBO.
- IF Eun-Won Jung ($8)- Jung should be batting second for the Eagles and is hitting .287 with a .357 wOBA this season.
