Core plays and a GPP cheat sheet for the February 11, 2020 NBA DFS FanDuel slate
Welcome to our NBA Core Plays & Cheat Sheet column for FanDuel. We share this article for all main slates (3 games+) over the course of the 2019-2020 NBA season. We hope you enjoy!
SPURS STACK ALERT: If DeMar DeRozan is sitting once again, we have a group of four names on the Spurs that are awfully intriguing today
Aldridge showed us that he’s going to be the guy for the Spurs when and if DeRozan is off the floor. He has a 30.5% usage rate in the split (leading the Spurs in the net gain department there) without double-D on the court this year, averaging nearly 47 fantasy points per 36 minutes of action in that time. This will be their third game in four nights however, and after playing 35 minutes yesterday, there’s a chance he won’t be quite as fresh. That being said, if DeRozan is out and Aldridge is set to play – he could still have another 6.0+ ROI night.
Some of the other names that I’m really liking on the slate are Dejounte Murray and Lonnie Walker. Walker started for DeRozan yesterday, playing 27 minutes against a tough DEN team (which SAS scored 120 points in that tilt) and showed he can be a fantasy asset while his salary is rock bottom. At $3,500 again here, he’s an ideal SG2 punt if starting once again (assuming DeRozan sits).
Murray is the easier guy to get excited about. We’ve seen flashes of brilliance from him in his brief NBA career thus far, and his last 2 games have been absolutely tantalizing with 50.3 and 37.7 fantasy points in a combined 62 minutes of action. He has 9 assists in back to back games, scoring 14+ real points in each and accruing 4 steals+blocks as well. Given he could easily see 30+ minutes once again here for $5,100 – I’m ready to go all in should DeRozan be inactive.
One additional name you’ll want to keep an eye on here is Trey Lyles. With Aldridge having played so many minutes lately, and Lyles working his way nicely into a meaningful rotation spot for the Spurs, he has to be on your radar for $3,500. He has 41 and 23.9 in 2 of his last 3 games – particularly when he’s seeing meaningful minutes. It looks like Popovich is going to keep running him out there with the starting group, and he chips in nicely with points/rebounds at this salary to be a big time fantasy producer.
For me it goes Aldridge > Murray > Lyles > Walker in terms of exposure on the slate. You can easily make the argument to bump down Aldridge over rest or exhaustion concerns, but I still feel he’s going to contribute in a big way if DeRozan is sidelined once again.
I could keep going here as there are just so many others I love, but I’ll save the rest for the cheat sheet below…
