Welcome to the FC Insights Core Plays and Cheat Sheet Article for DraftKings.
In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays for DraftKings for each night of the 2019-2020 NBA DFS season.
I know Isaiah Thomas is listed as questionable for tonight’s contests but I doubt he plays just based on some of his recent comments. If Thomas is out as expected I am going right back to Smith who has played well in the past four games with Thomas out. In those games, Smith is averaging 15.3 points, two rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 28.13 fantasy points. Smith has not just played well in his spot starts but I also love the match-up for him as the Grizzlies are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to point guards this season.
This is the second game of a back-to-back for the Clippers and that should mean we see Kawhi Leonard sit. If Leonard is out as expected you guys should know what to do by rostering Geroge. With Leonard off the court this season, George has a usage rate of 34.7% and is averaging 1.64 fantasy points per minute. If we look at just the games that George has played and Leonard has sat we will see that George is averaging 46 fantasy points per game in those five games.
Grant is coming off a big game in which he scored 20 points and grabbed five rebounds on his way to 32.75 fantasy points. Grant’s big game was made possible by the fact that Paul Millsap was forced out of the game early due to a quad injury. While Millsap has a chance to suit up tonight it is looking more and more likely that he sits and that is the case I like Grant to have another big game against his former team the Thunder.
It is going to take some work to get Harden in your lineups as he is uber-expensive but make no mistake he needs to be in your lineups. The reason why Harden needs to be in your lineups is the simple fact that Russell Westbrook is expected to get the night off. This season with Westbrook off the court, Harden has seen his usage increase 9.1% to 47.8%. Harden is averaging an elite 1.84 fantasy points per minute with Westbrook off the court. Harden not only sees the huge predictable boost with Westbrook out but I also love the match-up against the Pistons who rank 19th in defensive net rating this season.
Please note that we can only list a player at one position on the cheat sheets and unless otherwise noted I like the player at both of their eligible positions.
