Week 13 NFL DFS Running Backs (RB) Targets For FanDuel & DraftKings

Welcome to the FC Insights Running Back Targets Article. In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays at the RB position for each DFS week of the 2019-2020 NFL DFS season.

In this article, I am going to give you the top eight running backs in my personal model which uses a number of factors like Vegas total, match-up, salary, etc. Please note that just because a player is not in this article doesn’t mean that I don’t like them or that they are not in my player pool.

Last Weeks Results

Based off of DraftKings scoring

  1. N/A will return next week

Christian McCaffrey ($11,000 FD, $10,500 DK)

McCaffrey has at least 100 total yards and had 29+ fantasy points in every game other than when facing the stout Bucs run defense. Now McCaffrey gets a dream match-up against the Washington Redskins who have given up the 11th most points to Running Backs this year. Paying this much for any player makes you pause but it’s hard to see McCaffrey not being worth it.

Jonathan Williams ($6,800 FD, $5,300 DK)

At the start of the season I would have told you it was more likely I’d be writing up Jonathan Wiliams as a XFL fantasy play long before I’d ever write him up as a NFL fantasy play but that’s how fast the world can change. With Wilkins healthy last week Jonathan Williams posted an impressive 104 yards on 26 carries. Marlon Mack is out again and this week Williams draws the Titans defense that gave up 159 all-purpose yards to Leonard Fournette last week and has given up the 3rd most points to RB’s the last month.

Darrel Williams ($5,400 FD, $4,400 DK)

With Damien Williams ruled out for Week 13, most people are going to go back to Lesean McCoy but I think the RB you really want is Darrel Williams. When Damien Williams was out in weeks 3 & 4, Williams out-snapped McCoy 73-58, and even in week 12 after he got hurt Williams got more snaps 29 to 27. While McCoy did get more red zone touches, Darrel got 6 red zone touches during weeks 3 and 4 and got another in week 12. The Raiders defense is nothing special so Darrel could be the low owned play to vault you up in tournaments.

Le’Veon Bell ($7,300 FD, $7,200 DK)

Le’Veon Bell hasn’t had the absolute smash week yet but he’s been very consistent posting over 14 fantasy points in his last 4 games. This week he draws the Bengals defense which has allowed the 9th most points to opposing running backs in the last month. If there was ever a spot for Bell to get that 100 yard rushing game and 2 TD’s this would be it.

Aaron Jones ($8,000 FD, $6,800 DK)

Aaron Jones has been very hit or miss since DaVante Adams returned but this is the best match-up yet facing the Giants who have given up the 2nd most points to running backs in the last 4 weeks. We know Aaron Jones has 3+ TD upside but given his lack of overall yardage and 1 target over the last 2 weeks he’s gonna need those touchdowns to be on the winning tournament team. Just hard to ignore this match-up despite the usage concerns.
