Core Plays – Main Slate

NOP studs and values against POR

Jrue Holiday sits at the top of the SG position for me tonight, not only because the Blazers have really struggled against the position this season, but also thanks to the fact that he’s expected to log heavy minutes and do so with what should be the fourth time in five games with a mid-30s usage rate given the injuries NO is currently struggling with. He has 45+ potential here, with an outside shot at a 55+ FP game.

It’s worth calling out that some of the more attractive and potentially higher-owned commodities on this slate will be the values at SG, SF and C:

  • C – Jaxson Hayes, $4,800 – Derrick Favors and Jahlil Okafor are both likely to sit out again here, and when Hayes started for them over the weekend, he played 32 minutes, finishing with 32 fantasy points on a low-end double double (10-10-0-1-3). If his path is clear to big minutes again, he’s a safe bet to hit 5-6x his salary-based projections. C is pretty soft overall today, so he stands out as a high-end option regardless.
  • SG – J.J. Redick, $5,400 – Should Lonzo Ball sit out again, Redick is set to start once again here and log plenty of time on the floor – something he’s now done in 4 straight games and hitting a minimum of 5.0x value in each with as high as 36 points scored. If you do want a SG value as a complement to the SAC guard below or Holiday himself, he’s a very nice pairing.
  • SF – Kenrich Williams, $5,200 – Love the minutes he’s continued to log, and his high-energy approach that brings rebounds, steals and blocks to the table despite low usage offensively. He has a 22-25+ fantasy point floor here in my eyes, as he’s proven he’s generally good for.

A couple key Warriors against the Grizzlies

I’m not confident that a full GSW stack is profitable here, but both Ky Bowman ($4,700) and Eric Paschall ($5,900) are at great price points and worthy of considerable exposure. Bowman continues to benefit from Russell’s absence, and he proved once again that he can step in and provide adequate fantasy value given a 30.4 FP performance against the Pelicans on Sunday (28 minutes of 24.7% usage rate ball). Even with a price hike here, he still have 6+ ROI upside.

Paschall – similar to Bowman – was more of a value on the weekend than he is today. He hit the 40+ FP mark against the Pelicans on Sunday in 35 minutes of action, but with 33-35 minutes seeming like his projection and 24-27% usage rate as the general role, he’s a great GPP target given the upside he brings to the table in certain match-ups. This is the kind of situation he should be able to take good advantage of, as the Grizzlies rank as the worst defensive group over the last couple weeks (242.8 FP vs 223.7 FP as the league average) and could allow him to have his way offensively. It doesn’t hurt how bad the PF options are today, either, making Paschall one of the best overall targets at the position.

SG – Bogdan Bogdanovic, SAC vs PHX, $6,900

Even though we have a handful of attractive SGs on this slate, including 2 in particular that I mentioned above, I do still think that Bogdanovic is worthy of significant love tonight. He continues to play extremely well for the Kings while Fox is sidelined, as the historical splits suggest with a major usage boost. Phoenix ranks below average over the last couple of weeks on the defensive side of things, playing at an above-average pace and being quite susceptible to players of the SG/SF position in particular. With a very fantasy-friendly game (points, steals, 3s, assists) that double-B brings to the table, and 31+ FP in 5 straight games, it’s not surprising to see him here for $6,900 given he can be a lineup stabilizer in a plus situation.
