Welcome to the FC Insights Core Plays and Cheat Sheet Article for FantasyDraft.
In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays for FantasyDraft for each night of the 2019-2020 NBA DFS season.
Jeremy Lamb has been ruled out of tonight’s game already and with Edmond Sumner still out as well we should see another start for Holiday as we did in the Pacers last game. In that game, Holiday played 30 minutes and after starting off really slow had a nice finish to his night with 18 points, two rebounds and an assist on his way to 23.5 fantasy points. That game was the third straight game that Holiday was able to produce 17 fantasy points which is a mark I think he hits with ease tonight against a Pistons team that has struggled on the defensive end of the court.
Drummond is my top stud on this slate as he gets to take on a Pacers team he has had a lot of success against this season. The Pacers and Pistons have already faced off two times this season and in those games, Drummond is averaging 25 points, 20.5 rebounds, three blocks, and 61.38 fantasy points. Even if Drummond had not had the prior success against the Pacers this season he would still be one of my top players as the Pacers struggle against big men. This season they have the sixth-worst team rebounding rate and are allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to centers.
Thompson has been excellent this season with averages of 16.9 points, 11.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.2 steals+blocks. Thompson has six double-doubles in his seven games and has produced at least 39 fantasy points in five of his past six games. Tonight I am expecting Thompson to have both a double-double and at least 39 fantasy points as the Cavs take on the Wizards. The Wizards are just a perfect match-up for Thompson as they don’t rebound the ball well at all. This season they have the fifth-worst rebounding rate and are allowing over 20 rebounds per game to centers which are most in the NBA. They also struggle to stop centers from having their way in all the other fantasy categories as well and that has lead to them allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to centers this season.
