Sharing our core plays and cheat sheet for the Week 3 2019 NFL DFS slate on FanDuel.
In this column, we’ll share 4 core plays for FanDuel on a weekly basis, as well as our cheat sheet for the week’s main slate.
Let’s dive right in to the goods!
QB – Jameis Winston, TB vs NYG, $7,300
The Giants are awful. Just plain awful.
Winston and the Bucs get them in week 3, on home turf, and are in for a fun Sunday afternoon. New York has allowed over 320 yards passing (per game) so far this year, and a whopping 31.5 PPG to the opposition.
Given the strength of Chris Godwin and Mike Evans on the outside, this seems like a prime spot for Winston and his top receivers to do serious damage here. Godwin’s stock has ballooned quickly after a couple very good games to start his 2019 season – and I’m expecting Winston will have his best game yet against a very susceptible secondary.
RB – Ezekiel Elliott, DAL vs MIA, $8,800
Zeke is my top RB on the board this week, especially checking in a little bit less than fellow stud Christian McCaffrey.
Last week he had 25 touches after a bit of a slower week 1 start (14 touches), rushing for 111 yards and adding another 9 through the air (2 REC) on the way to a 31-21 DAL victory.
The Cowboys are massive favorites on Sunday, facing off against the sad excuse for an NFL team (MIA) on home turf in Dallas. The Dolphins have allowed 195.5 rushing yards per game through their first 2 tilts, which bodes incredibly well for one of the league’s best rushers and rushing attacks altogether.
Even if the Cowboys get out to an early lead (expected, per the Vegas metrics we’re currently looking at), Zeke should get plenty of run in the 20+ touch territory to help ice the game. Tony Pollard could factor in later on (i.e. 4th quarter) to help give Elliott a bit of a breather if we’re looking at a laugher – but before we get there, the Cowboys should put up plenty of points (25-30 with ease). Zeke will be a key part of whatever happens in that regard, especially with Michael Gallup sidelined.
Go ahead and get him active in a very juicy match-up – particularly in cash games.
WR – Chris Godwin, TB vs NYG, $7,600
I gushed about Winston above, and Godwin is right there as a QB-WR stack that I’m loving on the week 3 slate.
The Giants are allowing over 300 yards passing to their opponents (small sample size with 2 games thus far), but it’s hard not to get excited about his prospects after a 8-121-1 line he hung on the Panthers last week (9 targets).
He’s passed the eye test in every regard, looking more explosive than Mike Evans and O.J. Howard, creating space off the line and doing a great job creating space with a combo of length and athleticism after the catch.
Things line up beautifully for Godwin to have another game like we saw from him last week, and I’m expecting we’ll see 10 targets, 90+ yards and hopefully 1-2 scores when all is said and done.
He’s the 8th most expensive WR on the slate for FanDuel purposes, but has arguably the best DvP situation to exploit – and could easily finish as a top 3 overall scorer at the position.
TE – Mark Andrews, BAL @ KC, $6,800
I want shares of the BAL/KC game this week. The slate-high 54.5 point total and one score (-6 for KC) spread are very appealing.
Instead, I’m looking for a soft spot at the TE position where I’m going to pivot off a very chalky Travis Kelce down to Andrews for over $1,000 less.
Andrews is the 3rd highest priced TE on the slate, but currently leads the main slate TEs with a 21 FDP/G average after posting back-to-back 100+ yard games with a TD.
Sustainable pace? Not necessarily for a full 16 game season. But in a pace-plus game where KC is going to make Jackson beat them through the air? I’m all in one more week while the price is still digestible.
His catch% is fantastic (16 receptions on 17 targets to start the year), and he’s quickly become a go-to part of the BAL offense when Jackson needs a reliable threat.
He’ll be over $7,000 in short order, and in a game that you need to have some strategic exposure to, I’m loving how things shape up for him here.
