Welcome to the Daily Three Pack where we share three core players on Yahoo that you are going to want to target for MLB DFS contests on Tuesday, June 18, 2019.
In this article, I am going to give you three core plays that I am using in cash games for the main slate of games. This core will include a pitcher and two hitters. I will also give you a bonus play which will be my favorite expensive hitter normally over $20 in salary on this slate.
Pitcher to Target
If you look at Keller’s first two career starts in the majors you will think I am crazy to roster him tonight and you may be correct. With that being said I personally don’t think the Keller we have seen in his two major league starts is the actual Keller as his Triple-A numbers are elite. In his 11 starts in Triple-A Keller had a FIP of 3.63 and a K rate of 30.2%. Those numbers are as elite as you are going to see and are the reason I am willing to take a chance on Keller at his salary in the match-up against the Tigers who suck. The Tigers are right up there with the Marlins as best match-ups for right-handed pitching as this season they rank dead last in team wOBA, 29th in team ISO and have the second highest K rate against them.

Hitters to Target
Caratini should be in the lineup for the Cubs tonight and stands out as my favorite catcher as he is cheap and in an elite match-up against Ivan Nova. Nova has struggled against left-handed hitting throughout his career and this season is allowing them to slash .329/.375/.530 with a .381 wOBA.

I am missing something when it comes to the salaries of the Brewers tonight as they take on Logan Allen. Allen is making his first career start tonight and doesn’t project to be an elite starter at all. Cain’s salary really stands out to me on the Brew Crew. Cain has not been that great against lefties this season but has hit them traditionally well and is hitting the ball well currently with hits in four of his past five starts.

In his past seven games, Rizzo has nine hits with three home runs. Rizzo is slashing .346/.393/.731 during this stretch. Rizzo is not just crushing the ball right now but he is also in an elite match-up against Ivan Nova. Nova really struggles against left-handed hitting. Since the start of the 2014 season, Nova is allowing left-handed hitters to slash .310/.351/.516 with a .367 wOBA. Rizzo has also had a lot of success against Nova with seven hits in his 15 career at-bats against him.
Yesterday’s Results: Mike Trout 30.3 fantasy points
