The Hitting Rundown: Featuring stacks to target for the FanDuel & DraftKings MLB DFS slate on June 17, 2019.
Number of Games: 12
Teams with high projected run totals (5.0 or above): ATL (5.0), CLE (5.1), OAK (5.4), LAD (5.3)
Teams with low projected run totals (3.5 or below): MIA (3.2), SF (3.3)
Games with weather concerns: PHI @ WAS, TB @ NYY, HOU @ CIN, MIA @ STL
Angels vs. Edwin Jackson (Projected total: TBD)
Edwin Jackson has made five starts this season and was the long man after the Blue Jays used an opener in another game. In those six appearances, Jackson has allowed 34 runs in just 24.2 innings of work. That works out to an ERA of 10.22 to go along with a WHIP of 2.03 and an HR/9 rate of 3.28. Jackson has a measly K rate of 13.9% and is allowing hitters to slash .364/.426/.736 with a .475 wOBA and a 41.9% hard-hit rate this season. Those struggles make the Angels by far my favorite stack on this slate.
Yesterday’s Results: Yankees 10 runs, 12 hits, 6 walks, 1 home run
Dodgers vs. Tyler Beede (Projected total: 5.3)
The Dodgers have two really expensive hitters in Cody Bellinger and Max Muncy tonight but outside of those guys the rest of their hitters are very affordable on both sites but especially on FanDuel and they are by far my favorite inexpensive stack tonight. The Dodgers are just in such a good spot against Tyler Beede who has a FIP of 6.18, an HR/9 rate of 2.01 and a WHIP of 2.06 this season. Beede has struggled the most against left-handed hitting allowing them to slash .382/.436/.735 with a .472 wOBA and the Dodgers should have five left-handed hitters in their lineup tonight.
Yesterday’s Results: Orioles 6 runs, 12 hits, 5 walks, 2 home runs
Marlins vs. Miles Mikolas (Projected total: 3.2)
I am going to start by saying that I am not rostering the Marlins tonight or ever. The Marlins are that bad and this season rank dead last in team ISO and next to last in team wOBA against right-handed pitching. With that being said the Marlins have shown flashes recently and did beat up on Miles Mikolas in his last start. In that game, the Marlins had five runs on eight hits in the five innings Mikolas was in the game and finished the game with nine runs on 12 hits with two home runs. If you believe that the Marlins can beat up on Mikolas again tonight you will be able to roster them at little to no ownership. I personally don’t think it will happen myself and would rather roster Mikolas.
Yesterday’s Results: N/A
