Nationals vs. Taylor Clarke (Projected total: 5.7)
Lots of teams to choose from for top stack on the early slate of games with the Nationals standing out as the best of the bunch due to their match-up against Taylor Clarke. Clarke has started five games in his major league career and in those five starts he has allowed 17 runs on 26 hits with four home runs and nine walks in 22.2 innings of work. That works out to an ERA of 5.96, an HR/9 rate of 1.59 and a WHIP of 1.54. Clarke is allowing hitters to slug .515 with a .361 wOBA and a 34.2% hard-hit rate in those games.
Yesterday’s Results: Padres 16 runs, 21 hits, 6 walks, 4 home runs
Twins vs. Glenn Sparkman (Projected total: 5.9)
The Twins were a big bust last night only scoring two runs on four hits but I am forgetting about that performance as the Twins are going to smash tonight like they have all season. Glenn Sparkman is just a bad flyball pitcher who doesn’t strike out anyone. That is going to spell trouble most nights especially against a Twins team that leads the league in every statistical category. The only thing that may stop the Twins tonight is the rain.
Yesterday’s Results: Twins 2 runs, 4 hits, 4 walks, 1 home run
