Welcome to the Daily Four Pack where we share four core players on FanDuel that you are going to want to target for MLB DFS contests on Friday, June 14, 2019.
In this article, I am going to give you four core plays that I am using in cash games for the main slate of games. This core will include my favorite pitcher, my favorite expensive hitter, my favorite mid-tier hitter, and my top value hitter. For my value hitter, the hitter must be under $3,000 in salary to be considered and for the mid-tier hitter, they must be between $3,000 and $3,500 in salary.
Pitcher to Target
The hardest thing to do today on FanDuel is to resist the temptation to spend up at the pitcher position. While I love most of the ace pitchers on this slate if you want to truly have a chance to win a GPP tonight you are going to need to find a cheap pitcher who has a chance at scoring 40 plus fantasy points. There are plenty of pitchers that I think have the chance to pull that feat off tonight with Davies being my favorite of the group. Davies has five quality starts in his past seven games and is in an elite match-up against a Giants team that struggles at home and struggles against right-handed pitching. This season the Giants rank 28th in team wOBA and 26th in team ISO against right-handed pitching.
Yesterday’s Results: Jacob deGrom 43.0 fantasy points
Stud Hitter to Target
Machado has had a slow start to his Padres career but is starting to heat up. Machado has scored at least three fantasy points in nine straight games and in those nine games he has three home runs including two yesterday. Machado is not only starting to heat up but you have to love the match-up for him as he is at Coors Field against Jeff Hoffman. Hoffman has been a reverse splits pitcher this season as he is allowing right-handed hitters to slash .368/.393/.737 with a .449 wOBA and a 50.0% hard-hit rate.
Yesterday’s Results: Nolan Arenado 6.00 fantasy points
Mid-Tier Hitter to Target
I love to target Luplow against left-handed pitching. This season Luplow has an OPS of 1.106, an ISO of .433 and a wOBA of .447 against them. When that lefty is Ryan Carpenter who is allowing right-handed hitters to slash .302/.355/.615 with a .396 wOBA this season Luplow become a must play for me especially at only $3,000 in salary.
Yesterday’s Results: Didi Gregorius 9.2 fantasy points
Value Hitter to Target
The salary on Dietrich is too good to pass up tonight as he takes on a right-handed pitcher. This season Dietrich has an OPS of 1.016, an ISO of .415 and a wOBA of .410 against righties. Now, the right-handed pitcher he is facing Jess Chavez has been solid against left-handed pitching the past two seasons number wise but I am not buying into it as Chavez has allowed left-handed hitters to have a hard contact rate over 45.0% since the start of last season.
Yesterday’s Results: Kyle Garlick N/A not in the lineup
