Welcome to the Daily Three Pack where we share three core players on FanDuel that you are going to want to target for MLB DFS contests on Wednesday, April 17, 2019.
In this article, I am going to give you three core plays that I am using in cash games for the main slate of games. This core will include my favorite pitcher, my favorite hitter, and my top value hitter. For my value hitter, the hitter must be under $3,000 in salary to be considered.
Pitcher to Target
Hamels struggled in his first start of the season but I am giving him a pass for that game as it game at Globe Life Park in Arlington which is a ballpark he struggled to pitch at as a member of the Rangers. Instead of focusing on that one start I am going to focus on Hamels other two starts this season and his overall time with the Cubs as Hamels has been excellent since the Cubs acquired him. In his 15 starts, Hamels has allowed more than three runs just twice, has 11 quality starts and has struck out at least five batters in 12 of the 15 games. Tonight I am expecting a similar performance from Hamels as he faces a weak hitting Marlins team that ranks 20th or worst in team OPS, team wOBA and team ISO against left-handed pitching and just got shut out by the Cubs other left-handed pitcher Jose Quintana.

Hitter to Target
Matt Harvey is just not a good pitcher at this point of his career, especially against left-handed hitters. Over the past year, Harvey allowed lefties to slug .508 with a .356 wOBA. Gallo already took advantage of those struggles once this season going deep in Harvey’s previous start against the Rangers this season and I am calling my shot saying Gallo goes deep once again tonight which would be the third straight game Gallo went deep.

Value Hitter to Target
Wade Miley was excellent last season and has been solid to start the season but I am still not a believer in him. All the advanced stats show that Miley is going to regress back to the pitcher he was with Baltimore which was a bad pitcher. I am going to be targeting the A’s against Miley tonight with my favorite of the A’s hitters being Canha. Canha should be batting second for the A’s with Miley being left-handed and Canha just destroyed left-handed pitching last season with an OPS of .941, an ISO of .322 and wOBA of .390.
