FOUR PICKS FOR DFS CONTESTS ON SUNDAY
Nascar heads to Phoenix this week and we have your DFS plays for both DraftKings and FanDuel.
DENNY HAMLIN (DK $9,000) – Denny Hamlin has finished 1st/11th/10th so far at Daytona/Atlanta/Las Vegas. At this same race last year, Hamlin scored 57.25 fantasy points finishing in 4th place. This year he will be starting in 3rd place and has a very good chance of picking up his second win of the season. At $9,000 on DraftKings (compare to $12,000 on FanDuel) he is priced less than both Aric Almirola (DK $9,600 – 30.7 FPPR) and Chase Elliot (DK $9,300 – 36.7 FPPR) despite carrying a higher average (37.6 FPPR).
(Denny Hamlin drives the #11 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing.)
KURT BUSCH (DK $8,800) – Since finishing a disappointing 25th at Daytona, Kurt Busch has rebounded with a 3rd place finish at Atlanta and a 5th place finish at Las Vegas. Last year in Phoenix, he moved up from a 23rd place starting position to finish in 10th and scoring 54 fantasy points. He will start in 16th position on Sunday and has good chance to move up inside the top 5. At only $8,800 on DraftKings (compare to $10,000 on FanDuel) he is poised to bring value and potentially compete for a win.
(Kurt Busch drives the #1 Chevrolet for Chip Ganassi Racing.)
CHRIS BUESCHER (FD $6,000) – Buescher recorded the fastest single lap on Saturday and his #37 car is in good form coming into Sunday. After wrecking at Daytona, he has shown improvement in every race. At Atlanta he finished in 9th place from a 30th place start and in Vegas he moved from 27th up to 18th place. In those two races, he averaged 64.6 fantasy points. Starting in 22nd place, he is a real steal at $6,000 on FanDuel (compare to $6,600 on DraftKings) and has great upside for such a low salary.
(Chris Buescher drives the #37 Chevrolet for JTG Daugherty Racing.)
MATT DIBENEDETTO (FD $5,500) – DiBenedetto only managed 27.4 fantasy points at Daytona but has since averaged 46.65 points at Atlanta and Las Vegas. He will start this week in 25th position and has good potential to move up from there. He has improved his finishing position every week so far this season. Down $800 from last week, his $5,500 salary on FanDuel (compare to $6,200 on DraftKings) makes him a solid value play for a driver who is on the rise.
(Matt DiBenedetto drives the #95 Toyota for Leavine Family Racing.)
