Three low to moderate salary plays for NBA DFS contests tonight (Feb 8, 2019).
Malik Beasley (DEN) @ PHI
Beasley is playing tonight with a salary of $4,800 (DraftKings). At this price range, he is thoroughly dominating his competition at the SG position. Andre Iguodala and Luke Kennard are also listed at $4,800 (DraftKings), to help illustrate the point.
Over his last six games, Iguodala has 24 MPG and averages 25.3 fantasy points per game. Kennard is averaging 12.9 fantasy points per game on 19.5 MPG over his last six. In Malik Beasley‘s last six games he has averaged 29.6 fantasy points per game and 31 MPG. Tonight he is matched up against a 76ers team that ranks 24th DvP against the SG position. With a total at 229.5 and a tight line of PHI -4.5, this game looks to be high scoring and hotly contested. Expect Malik Beasley to be in the mix quite a bit as Denver will need his 43.1% 3-point shooting to keep up the pace tonight.
Eric Bledsoe (MIL) @ DAL
Over their last four games the Milwaukee Bucks are on a roll, largely in part to Eric Bledsoe‘s play. In that span Bledsoe has averaged 44.5 fantasy point per game. He is delivering big ROI right now with a salary that has not adjusted to his recent performance. At $6,700 DK (down from $6,800) and $7,800 FD (up from $7,500) he needs to be utilized tonight where he has an excellent DvP situation against the Mavs who rank 21st against the PG position and his usage rate has been holding in the mid-20’s. The Bucks are favored by 8 tonight in Dallas which is cause for concern, but to get there they will need Bledsoe to maintain his recent pace. His speed will be too much for the Mavericks tonight, especially in situations where Luka Doncic and Bledsoe may match up on the floor from a defensive exploitation perspective.
Collin Sexton (CLE) @ WAS
Collin Sexton presents some of the best value for tonight’s NBA slate. The Alec Burks trade has only helped push Sexton into more of a leading role for Cleveland as he matures through his rookie season.
The timing is opportune for Sexton who appears to be more and more comfortable as the season progresses and has met the challenge of his increased responsibilities. Tuesday against Boston he led the team in scoring, playing 42 minutes and posting a fantasy score of 40.3 points. He will continue to see more playing time with Burks out of the picture, but his price point hasn’t kept up with his increased role. His high value salary across the industry ($4,500 DK and $5,000 FD) is impossible to ignore. His minutes are increasing game to game (he’s averaged 34.3 over the last 3 games), his usage remains in the 20’s and his salary is a bargain. Don’t hesitate to take advantage of Sexton’s rise against Washington tonight, a team that ranks 23rd DvP against the PG position.
