Our experts share 3 core player picks for January 11, 2019, NBA DFS slate (free daily column).
Donovan Mitchell (UTA) vs. LAL
The Jazz are down four point guards due to injury and while they may start Naz Long at the position tonight Mitchell is going to have the ball in his hands a lot tonight. This season with Ricky Rubio, Dante Exum, Raul Neto, and Grayson off the court, Mitchell has a usage rate of 41.7%. That is an elite level of usage and puts him right up there in the James Harden stratosphere. Mitchell is not only going to have the ball in his hands a lot but I love the match-up against the Lakers. The Lakers are a big pace up game for Mitchell and have struggled against guards this season especially shooting guards as they are allowing the second most fantasy points per game to the position.
Domantas Sabonis (IND) @ NY
Myles Turner is likely out again tonight and you should know to fire up Sabonis when Turner is out. In the four games that Turner has missed this season, Sabonis is averaging 17.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 38.3 fantasy points. Sabonis not only would get the huge boost if Turner were ruled out but the match-up with the Knicks is also one that I love to target centers against. This season the Knicks rank in the bottom ten in both fantasy points allowed per game and defensive efficiency to the position.
Eric Bledsoe (MIL) @ WAS
Bledsoe has been a big let down the bast two games failing to produce over 30 fantasy points in both games but I like him to bounce back tonight against the Wizards. The Wizards are one of the best possible match-ups for point guards in the NBA. This season they are allowing the second most fantasy points per game to point guards and have the third-worst defensive efficiency to the position.
