The FC 3 – Daily NBA DFS Free Picks – November 19, 2018

Our experts share 3 core player picks for November 19, 2018, NBA DFS slate (free daily column).

For every NBA DFS slate with 4 or more games, we’ll publish this column to help guide you to building a great foundation for cash games and/or GPPs.

We’ll often try to avoid the “chalk studs” in this article to help bring you a fresh, unique and value-add perspective. Sometimes it’s important to emphasize key plays that we believe are core requirements for exposure – even if they may be fairly popular in ownership at the end of the day.

Let’s take a closer look at our FC 3 for the day’s main slate.

Deandre Ayton (PHX) @ PHI

The only true Cs averaging a higher percentage of their team’s touches on tonight’s slate ahead of Ayton are Marc Gasol (B2B), Joel Embiid (nearly $12K on FD), Nikola Jokic ($2.5K higher on FD) and DeAndre Jordan (more expensive and in an extreme pace-down game). For $7K on FD and only $6.5K on DK tonight we can roster a big man that keeps his fouls down (2.9 per 36 minutes), over 1.3 S+B per game and a rock solid 1.06 fantasy points per minute. The rebounding (18.2% share) and assists (15.3% share) are great for a young big, and the 20.5% usage% doesn’t hurt either. He’s playing 34 minutes per game on average over his last 7 and 32.5 FanDuel / 33.9 DraftKings points per outing in that time. The match-up against Joel Embiid isn’t a great one by any means considering his ranking in the DEF WS department (6th in the league with a .171 mark) – but I’m happy to roster him in cash games for a mid-30s fantasy point projection simply because the value for the dollar is very strong.

Tobias Harris (LAC) @ ATL

The PF position is pretty weak today, on FanDuel in particular. I’m not sure spending up for Anthony Davis is the route I want to take (or recommend for that matter), so pivoting down to another elite minutes guy like Harris is a very attractive avenue to consider. With 38 MPG in his last 6 games and an average of 37.4 FDP / 39.4 DKP in that time, he’s looking like a steal at $8K (FD) and $7.8 (DK). His 23% usage% is elite for a PF playing his kind of minutes, and when you look at his share of rebounds and assists as well (13.2% REB%; 10.6% AST%) it’s not hard to understand why I’m getting excited about his match-up tonight against the Hawks (229 total and plus-pace projection). He’s one of the highest touches/game names at the position and costs a heck of a lot less than Blake Griffin and Davis do tonight and is in a better overall spot to make you happy to roster him in DFS.

Bryn Forbes (SAS) @ NOP

This is really a FanDuel recommendation for only $3,600, but it’s awfully hard to fade a guy like this playing mid to high-20s minutes and scoring 18+ FDP on a consistent basis. That’s a mark he’s hit in 5 of his last 6 games, with a low of 14.7 against the Suns just about a week ago. In fact, he’s averaging 29 MPG in his last 7 and for near site minimum, you’ll take the 18.6% usage% to the bank without question. The 12.2% AST% and only 8.1% TOV% are great for the 25 year old too, and when you look at a game with a 223.5 total against the Pelicans, he should have no problem hitting a 5+ ROI threshold. Go ahead and get him active assuming you want to roster at least 2-3 high-priced studs here as he’ll give you plenty of flexibility. Just keep in mind he’s not the kind of guy with a high probability of returning a 7 or 8 times value – he’s a 20-25 FDP ceiling option.
