Quality – not quantity…Fresh off a night with a full set of games, tonight we only have 3 to choose from – but the three should all be highly entertaining!

Today’s Game Slate

Detroit @ Pittsburgh

Vancouver @ Chicago

Washington @ San Jose

line-ups lock at 8pm

On first glance, the games appear to be pretty even.  But in a slate with only three games, I am a pretty big believer in going out and picking players you think will get a point – and leaving it at that.  I am not opposed to having players on opposite teams – especially when there are no ‘clear-cut’ favourites (think -200 or better on the Vegas line).

Let’s take a look at some players tonight that I like:

  • Pittsburgh

RW David Perron ($5,900), LW Chris Kunitz ($7,100), C Evgeni Malkin ($8,500), D Kris Letang ($7,600), G Marc-Andre Fleury ($9,100)

  • Detroit

I won’t be picking any Wings tonight

  • Vancouver

I won’t be picking any Canucks tonight

  • Chicago

LW Brandon Saad ($5,400), RW Marian Hossa ($6,600), C Jonathan Toews ($6,700), RW Patrick Kane ($8,200), D Duncan Keith ($4,900), G Corey Crawford ($8,600)

  • Washington

LW Alexander Ovechkin ($9,300), C Nicklas Backstrom ($6,900)

  • San Jose

RW Joe Pavelski ($7,900), C Joe Thornton ($5,500), LW Melker Karlsson ($3,300), Matt Tennyson ($3,400)

Everything is pretty straight forward here as far as my rationale.  I have picked players on lines where I think they have the best chance of scoring a goal tonight.  I have excluded players that are very expensive when there are ways to get cheap exposure to PP and even strength time on the same line (See: Crosby, Sidney).

What players do you like for February 11th’s NHL action?  Have any questions setting your lineup?  We want to hear from you!

  1. Thanks, as always Brad!!

  2. Also – Kris Versteeg, LW ($5,100) is back in the fold for the Hawks tonight. He may have an impact on Patrick Sharp’s line-mates.
