Montgomery has struggled in his past two starts allowing nine runs in 12.2 innings while striking out just eight batters. While those are awful numbers I am going to through those two games out of the window when it comes to Montgomery at least for today for two reasons. The first is prior to his past two starts, Montgomery had been pitching well with five straight quality starts with at least four strikeouts and at least 16 DraftKings points in each of those five starts. The second reason is due to the match-up against Cleveland. The Guardians are an elite match-up for left-handed pitching as they rank dead last in team ISO, team wOBA, team OPS, and team wRC+ against them this season.
Soto is a notoriously slow starter but he turns it around at some point in the month of June. That is exactly what took place this season as Soto finished the month of June off strong. Sotto has hits in eight straight games with four doubles and a home run in those games. Soto is not only starting to heat up but I love the match-up for Soto against Pablo Lopez. Lopez started the season off hot but has really struggled as of late. In his past five starts, he has an ERA of 5.34, an HR/9 rate of 1.57, and a WHIP of 1.29.
Smith has not been great since his call back up to the Rangers but he has not been awful either. In his nine games, he has reached base safely in eight games and has an on-base percentage of .375. Smith has four runs scored and a stolen base as well in those games. What really has me excited for Smith today and why he is in this article is due to his match-up against Carlos Carrasco. Carrasco is a solid pitcher but he does struggle against left-handed hitters allowing them to slash .275/.331/.470 with a .344 wOBA this season.

Carlos Carrasco has really been struggling as of late for the Mets. In his past four starts, he has allowed five or more runs three times and has an ERA of 9.68 in those starts. Carrasco also has allowed seven home runs for an HR/9 rate of 3.57 with a WHIP of 1.98 in those games. While Carrasco has been struggling the Rangers have been hitting the ball well. Over the past two weeks, the Rangers rank in the top ten in team OPS, team ISO, and team wOBA.
