MLB DFS: Breaking down the top daily fantasy baseball hitters and team stacks on FanDuel & DraftKings for June 22, 2022

Digging into today’s MLB DFS slate to highlight your best bats to stack.

This article will cover two to three teams that we think are the most stackable for MLB contests. If you are newer to DFS or MLB or want a general refresher on the impact of stacking in MLB, check out our MLB Lineup Strategy refresher article.

Pittsburg Pirates (vs. Chicago Cubs)

I never thought that I would recommend the Pirates as a stack for three straight days but that is exactly what is taking place. I just love the combination of salary, match-up, and current form when it comes to the Pirates. When looking at their salaries the Pirates only have one guy in their projected lineup with a salary over $4,000 on DraftKings with six of their hitters having a salary under $3,000 in salary. On FanDuel all nine of their projected hitters are $3,000 in salary or cheaper. When it comes to form the Pirates have scored 19 runs with 18 hits so far in this series. On the match-up front, the Pirates get to take on Keegan Thompson. While Thompson is the best Cubs pitcher that they have faced in this series he is not a great pitcher and is a pitcher that has struggled on the road throughout his career. In his 42.2 innings pitched in away games, Thompson has an ERA of 5.48, an HR/9 rate of 2.11, and a WHIP of 1.71. We also have to remember that the Cubs bullpen is one of the worst in the majors with the second-highest combined ERA and second-highest combined HR/9 rate.

Boston Red Sox (vs. Detroit Tigers)

Tarik Skubal has some excellent season-long numbers for the Tigers but is in a bit of a skid right now. Skubal has allowed at least three runs in each of his past three starts and has allowed nine total runs in his past two starts. Those last two starts are what really stand out for me on Skubal as he has allowed nine runs on 15 hits with two home runs and four walks in just nine innings of action. The Red Sox are the perfect team to take advantage of those struggles if they continue as they rank in the top ten in team ISO, team wOBA, and team OPS against left-handed pitching this season. The biggest drawback that I can see when it comes to the Red Sox tonight and why I have a little bit of a pause with them is the Tigers bullpen is a strong unit and if Skubal does struggle then the Red Sox are likely to see a lot of the Tigers pen but the Tigers pen but the Tigers pen also might be a bit tired as they have had to use it heavily recently.
