Draftkings and FanDuel PGA DFS Course Preview: Muirfield Village Golf Club

Featuring in-depth analysis of The Memorial at Muirfield! Daily fantasy golf analysis for this week’s DFS PGA course to help you figure out what stats to look for and the best way to approach this week’s course!

This week the players head to Muirfield Village Golf Club to tee it up for the 2022 Memorial in what should be a great week of PGA DFS action.  Muirfield checks in at over 7500 yards – so length is certainly paramount here, but it does feature 4 Par 5’s and is a Par 72 overall, so there will be opportunities for the field to score here.

Muirfield historically has seen ball strikers fair well here, and as a result – that will be the primary focus in terms of metrics to use for this week’s event:

  • SG (APP)
  • SG (OTT)
  • SG (TTG)

The greens here are bentgrass, so if you are running putting metrics as part of your evaluation, make sure to filter out for SG: Putting (Bentgrass).  Putting is a little more important here than most courses with the greens being a little tricky to navigate, so you could toss in SG: Putting (bentgrass) in as another metric if you were looking for more than the three listed above!

We have a real horse for the course here with Patrick Cantlay having won here twice (2021, 2019).  His game clearly fits the course well and that will give him a bump up in ownership levels here.  Jon Rahm picked up the win between Cantlay, with Bryson winning before that – so as you can see, of late this tournament has been dominated by elite golfers.  In general, this is a week where the cream of the crop in the field will likely rise to the top in what is a strong field event at a challenging track.

Best of luck in your contests this week, and keep an eye out for our Cheat Sheet which will be released shortly!
