DraftKings CoD Esports DFS Rundown (CDL) – May 14, 2022

London Royal Ravens (LDN) vs. Paris Legion (PAR) (3:00 PM EST)

LDN enter this match losing their first match of the new stage qualifiers yesterday and face one of the bottom teams in the league at the moment in PAR. Fortunately, for LDN they defeated PAR 3-1 the last time these teams met so they may have a slight edge from tendencies in that series. Hardpoint seemed to be LDN’s biggest edge against PAR since they defeated them twice in that gametype previously. However, PAR have been slightly better in that mode with a 3-4 record since then compared to LDN’s 2-5 record. The assault rifle mains of PAR have stepped up and Temp has been getting more help from his teammate GRVTY (1.24 K/D) which has made anchoring easier for the team over time. Sadly, for LDN no other player has been as efficient besides Gismo who has been recently benched for Harry. As LDN continue to try and figure things out with their new lineup this may be the opening PAR needs in order to get revenge so this match can result in a win either way.

Toronto Ultra (TOR) vs. Seattle Surge (SEA) (4:30 PM EST)

Both teams enter this match off losing streaks but SEA has had the worse end with five losses in a row compared to TOR’s one in a row. TOR also just defeated SEA 3-1 in the Pro-AM Classic so the rematch may benefit TOR unless SEA is able to defeat TOR again in their best gametype (search & destroy) along with a strong start. Sadly, SEA has struggled in every other gametype (0-9) which does not help them against a TOR team that has been improving in the others gradually with an 8-7 record in respawns. The slaying has not been as dominant but more balanced for TOR with CleanX leading the way in respawns with a 1.0 K/D to start this second half of the season. Therefore, the battle of the submachine gun mains will be crucial to their team’s success here with Pred having a slightly better efficiency with a 1.01 K/D in respawn gametypes. SEA will have a lot more pressure on them though due to their recent struggles in all gametypes outside of search and destroy.

Florida Mutineers (FLA) vs. OpTic Texas (OTX) (6:00 PM EST)

OTX are coming off a strong 3-0 win with their recent fill-in PROLUTE and will get a rematch against a FLA squad that recently swept them 3-0 in the Pro-AM Classic last week. Skyz of FLA was the most dominant player in that previous series especially in search and destroy (3.50 K/D) which has been OTX’s most relied upon gametype as of late as they tried to juggle fill-ins for their flex player iLLeY.  Since then, Dashy has been the most efficient for OTX with a 1.76 in S&D’s which will be needed as the main anchor for his team and to help slow down Skyz. The fact that PROLUTE has started off his debut well in S&D’s (1.6 K/D) yesterday bodes well for his comfortability heading into this match. However, with FLA being 4-2 in respawns and OTX starting off slower with a 3-7 record this is FLA’s best chance to prevent OTX from getting revenge. Since OTX is still working on nailing chemistry down with PROLUTE there shouldn’t be surprise if FLA prevails in this one.

Los Angeles Guerrillas (LAG) vs. Minnesota ROKKR (MIN) (7:30 PM EST)

Since the last Major 2 victory and some weapon changes (ban of a gun in-game), LAG have been struggling and are on a four-game losing streak. MIN are also on a one-game losing streak as well with recently added Havok to the lineup adjusting with his new team. The last time these teams faced off resulted in a sweep in favor of MIN 3-0 and the slaying was most dominant for MIN in the hardpoint gametype (1.19 team overall K/D). Therefore, the start of the series will be significant for the momentum with hardpoint kicking off the series. The second half of the season the slaying for both teams in this mode specifically have been fairly close with MIN having a slight edge (0.96 team overall K/D versus LAG’s 0.93). The assault rifle main performances will be important too since Attach of MIN, and SlasheR of LAG have been the most consistent and only players with kill-death ratios at/or above 1. Although LAG have had more engagements on the map, MIN have died less with a 91.2 rate compared to LAG’s 103.3. That being said, look for Attach to help anchor/lead his MIN squad to a strong start but this match can definitely go either way.
