We also cover the course and what to look for in terms of metrics in this week’s course overview piece, which is a new addition to the site – and will continue to be so moving forward!

The Best of the best…

  • Will Zalatoris, $9,400

A metrics darling, Zalatoris comes into this one playing outstanding.  It certainly doesn’t hurt that he knows the course extremely well, playing ‘hundreds’ of rounds at TPC Craig Ranch.  He comes into this one ranked 11th on tour in SG: OTT, 2nd in SG: APP and 2nd in SG: TTG.  The question with him is how will he do with his putting – and if he can be adequate on the green, I think that he’ll be in the thick of things near the top of the leaderboard this week.  I love the spot for him this week – and at this price point, he doesn’t break the bank compared to some of the other elite options this week.

The Next Group

  • Si Woo Kim, $7,800

He’s strong off the tee (27th on tour in SG: OTT) and while his approach game can be hit or miss – I do think that he is a good fit for TPC Craig Ranch.  He’s priced fair, won’t be too popular in terms of ownership levels, and I like his chances of having a strong showing this week.  While I also really like Adam Hadwin this week, Kim is an interesting game theory pivot off of him as I do think that Hadwin will have significantly higher ownership levels.

  • Luke List, $7,300

List bounced back from a tough stretch with a great showing last week – and for an elite ball striker on a course that fits his game extremely well, he is too cheap this week.  I like his chances of continuing his strong form from a week ago, and after a bump in the road with his game – I like his chances of continuing to build on what has been a great season for him.  He comes into this one ranked 8th on SG: OTT, 13th in SG: APP and 4th in SG: TTG.  All in all, he’ll be popular – but this is good chalk.  He’s a great option this week for a value play.

Don’t Forget About…

  • Mito Pereira, $7,600

An elite ball striker, Pereira is a fantastic fit for TPC Craig Ranch.  He comes into this one ranked 18th on tour in SG: APP and 24th in SG: TTG, 35th in SG: OTT and 28th in SG: Total.  All in all, he offers fantastic upside for a sub $8k priced golfer and I like his chances of putting together four strong rounds this week down in Texas!
