Daniel Hemric – $9,900 – Starting 5th

We head to the super-speedway of Talladega this weekend and the 2.66 mile-track. Over Hemric’s last three starts here he has an average finish of 7th, with two of them being 4th and 5th place finishes. Hemric has graded out incredibly well at this track in his career and has never netted less than 25.50 fantasy points at this track so we are at least establishing some form of a realistic form. With the larger track, we are going to have less laps, so grabbing fast laps and laps led won’t be our top quality we are looking for here. Of course, they help and we still want the dominator points, but we also are looking for differential and finishing position. While Hemric has been up and down this year with just three top-10 finishes in eight races, we have seen some strong performances out of him in the past at super-speedways with success at Daytona and Pocono. I very easily could have just put Noah Gragson here again at $10,300 as I do firmly believer rostering Gragson weekly is a +EV play, but for the sake of being different, I like Hemric a lot this weekend.

Chandler Smith – $6,800 – Starting 30th

Chandler Smith is a name you will see mostly in the Trucks Series and a name who has had a ton of success there too. This will be Smith’s Xfinity debut for 2022 and the first of three races he will run this year. Smith is currently second in points in the Truck Series and finished 8th in points in 2021 and has three wins in 43 career starts to go along with 17 top-5 and 21 top-10 finishes. Smith is just 19-years old and has a bright future in racing so while the Xfinity Series is a step up in competition, Smith has had success at the Truck and Arca level so far in his career. Smith will drive for Sam Hunt Racing and with a cheap price and a 30th place starting point, there is differential upside here.
