DraftKings & FanDuel NASCAR DFS – Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 400 – April 9, 2022
Core Plays
William Byron – DK: $9,500 | FD: $10,500 – Starting 5th
We travel to the short-track of Martinsville this weekend and its 0.53 length. Byron raced in the Truck Series on Thursday night and despite starting 32nd in the field, took the checkered flag while also leading 94 laps in the race. Last week at Richmond, another short track, Byron started second and finished third, leading 122 laps and having 31 of the fastest. All-in-all, Byron has had a strong and quiet year, with three top-five finishes in his last five cup races. Byron also has four top-five finishes in his last five races here at Martinsville. Short track racing benefits the front of the field more, and Byron checks a lot of boxes for me this week.
Harrison Burton – DK: $5,600 | FD: $3,000 – Starting 29th
For value, I am going back to Harrison Burton again this week after his 18th place finish last weekend. Burton has now netted 24.8 or more fantasy points in three straight races and while this doesn’t seem like a lot, for his price it is what we are looking for, especially at races like this that can be dominator heavy. Burton won at Martinsville back in 2020 in the Xfinity Series and also finished seventh in 2021. The further back starting spot here gives us differential upside on a short-track that Burton appears comfortable on.
