The NBA Rundown – FanDuel & DraftKings NBA DFS Picks – January 12, 2022 (1/12/22)

Please note that players on DraftKings and FanDuel have multi-position eligibility and may not always match their position between each other. In this article, we will be breaking down some of our favorite plays on the slate at their positions. Remember to always keep your eye on the news as the day progresses, as NBA news changes the slate frequently.

Guards

Spencer Dinwiddie ($6,000 DK, $7,100 FD)

Team Total Usage Rate Fantasy Points Per Minute Opponent Defensive Net Rating Rank Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to Position
112.75 21.2% 0.93 25th 46.15

Dinwiddie said he is going to play tonight in the back-to-back set and assuming the Wizards don’t say he is going to have a minutes limit I don’t see how you don’t roster him with Bradley Beal out. This season when not sharing the court with Beal, Dinwiddie has seen an increase of usage of 4.8% and is averaging 1.13 fantasy points per minute. If we look at just the seven games this season the Beal has missed that Dinwiddie has played in we will see that Dinwiddie is averaging 24 points, six rebounds, nine assists, and 45.99 fantasy points.

Corey Kispert ($3,500 DK, $3,500 FD)

112.75 14.5% 0.60 25th 39.32

If you are looking for a dirt-cheap guy to roster tonight to be able to afford some of these studs I would look at Kispert. Kispert started with Bradley Beal out last game and played well. In his 29 minutes, Kispert had 12 points, five rebounds, three assists, and a block on his way to 24.5 fantasy points. The 24 fantasy points are a mark that we have seen Kispert hit in three of his past five spot starts over the past couple of weeks which makes me believe he can repeat that performance, especially against a bad Magic defense.

Malik Monk ($6,200 DK, $5,500 FD)

Team Total Usage Rate Fantasy Points Per Minute Opponent Defensive Net Rating Rank Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to Position
116.25 17.8 0.81 26th 41.99

Monk is coming off a bad game against Memphis but had been hot prior to that game scoring in double-figures in each of his seven previous games. Monk had at least 26 fantasy points in six of those seven games and averaged 33.24 fantasy points in those games. Tonight I am expecting we see Monk go back to that level of production as he takes on the Kings. The Kings were one of the teams he faced during that seven-game stretch and this season they rank in the bottom five in defensive net rating and fantasy points allowed per game to shooting guards.

Forwards

Jaylen Brown ($9,300 DK, $8,900 FD)

Team Total Usage Rate Fantasy Points Per Minute Opponent Defensive Net Rating Rank Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to Position
106.75 30.1% 1.11 21st 39.08

Brown is smoking hot right now and I am going to roster him until he cools down. In his past five games, Brown is averaging 28.8 points, ten rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.8 steals+blocks. Brown has at least 44 fantasy points in four of those five games with three games over 50 fantasy points including in each of his last two games with one of those games being against the same Pacers team he faces tonight.

Josh Green ($3,700 DK, $4,600 FD)

Team Total Usage Rate Fantasy Points Per Minute Opponent Defensive Net Rating Rank Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to Position
104.25 14.9% 0.84 18th 40.19

Green is a bit of a risk as his minutes are not secure but he is a risk I am willing to take at least on DraftKings where is under $4,000 in salary. The reason why I am willing to take the risk on Green tonight is due to the way he has played in the Mavs’ past two games. Green played over 20 minutes in each of those games and averaged 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 28.85 fantasy points.

Power Foward/Centers

Domantas Sabonis ($10,000 DK, $10,300 FD)

Team Total Usage Rate Fantasy Points Per Minute Opponent Defensive Net Rating Rank Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to Position
103.75 22.5% 1.19 5th 44.76

Sabonis is one of the hottest players in the NBA right now. Sabonis has two triple-doubles in his past three games and has at least 50 fantasy points in six of his past seven games. One of the games where Sabonis had at least 50 fantasy points happened to come against the same Boston team he faces tonight and I don’t see any reason why Boston is able to slow him down in this one.

Omer Yurtseven ($6,900 DK, $6,800 FD)

Team Total Usage Rate Fantasy Points Per Minute Opponent Defensive Net Rating Rank Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to Position
110.25 20.2% 1.14 27th 56.36

I feel like a broken record as I write up Yurtseven anytime the Heat play but really is not my fault. I blame the sites as they still continue to price Yurtseven under $7,000 in salary despite him putting up big numbers each time he takes the court. In his past seven games, Yurtseven is averaging 12 points, 15.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.8 steals+blocks. Yurtseven is averaging 1.17 fantasy points per minute in his 32.7 minutes of action and has produced over 37 fantasy points in five of his past six games.
