Week 18 NFL DFS Running Back (RB) Targets For FanDuel & DraftKings

Welcome to the FC Insights Running Back Targets Article. In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays at the RB position for each DFS week of the 2021-2022 NFL DFS season.

Top Plays

Jonathan Taylor ($10,200 FD, $9,300 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Rushing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Rushing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to RBs
Jaguars 29.75 127.1 22 24.00

I am prioritizing putting Taylor in my lineups this week as the Colts have to win to assure themselves a playoff spot. I say this as feeding Taylor the ball gives the Colts the best chance to win this week. Taylor has been the best running back in the NFL this season by far. Taylor leads the league in rushing with 1,734 yards, rushing touchdowns with 18, and 100-yard rushing games with ten. Taylor has double-digit fantasy points in all but two games this season and has at least 20 fantasy points in all but five games this season. Taylor has not only run wild on the NFL this season but the match-up against the Jaguars is also one to target. The Jags have struggled to stop the run for most of the season but especially have struggled in that category as of late. The Jags have allowed 176.3 rushing yards per game over their past three games which is the most in the NFL during this span. They have also allowed five rushing touchdowns which is the second-most in the NFL during this period.

Alvin Kamara ($9,000 FD, $8,300 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Rushing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Rushing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to RBs
Falcons 22.00 127.9 19 25.47

I don’t like what we have seen from Kamara running-wise since he has returned to the Saints lineup as he only has rushed for 222 yards in those four games with 120 of those yards coming in one game but with that being said I am still very high on him this week. I am high on Kamara for his involvement in the passing game and match-up against the Falcons. Kamara has at least four targets in all but one game this season including in each of his games since his return and is coming off a game in which he caught five passes for 68 yards and a score. As far as the match-up with the Falcons go they are always a team that struggles against pass-catching running backs and they have really struggled against the run as of late. The Falcons have allowed seven rushing touchdowns over the past three weeks and are allowing the second-most rushing yards in that time frame at 175.0.

Rashaad Penny ($7,800 FD, $6,500 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Rushing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Rushing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to RBs
Cardinals 21.00 109.4 8 20.84

Penny has made this article each of the past three weeks and I don’t see any reason to not roster him. Penny truly has been that good since taking over as the Seahawks lead running back. Penny has at least 100 yards rushing in three of those four games and leads the NFL in rushing yards with 481 in that time frame. Penny also has five rushing touchdowns in those games and has at least 22 fantasy points in three of the four games.

Sony Michel ($7,700 FD, $6,000 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Rushing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Rushing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to RBs
49ers 24.25 106.0 17 22.26

Michel is another running back I have rostered a lot over the past couple of weeks as he is putting up big numbers as the lead back for the Rams. Michel has at least 70 yards rushing in five straight games for the Rams and has three touchdowns in those games. Michel has double-digit fantasy points in four of those five games and is averaging 17.74 fantasy points per game in those games.

Value Plays

Devin Singletary ($6,700 FD, $6,000 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Rushing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Rushing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to RBs
Jets 29.00 136.3 27 32.63

It took the Bills long enough to realize what they have in Singletary but now that they have lookout. Singletary has at least 17 total touches in three straight games for the Bills and has at least 22 rushing attempts in two of their past three games. Singletary is averaging 94.67 total yards in those three games and has found pay dirt in each of those games. Singletary has at least 16 fantasy points in each of those games and at least 14 fantasy points in four straight games. This week I don’t expect we see Singletary slow down one bit either as the match-up with the Jets is as juicy as it gets. The Jets have allowed the fourth-most rushing yards per game this season, the most rushing touchdowns, and the most fantasy points per game to running backs.

Le’Veon Bell ($5,200 FD, $5,000 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Rushing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Rushing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to RBs
Panthers 25.00 115.6 14 20.31

I am going to be watching the Bucs injury report this week to see who can play for them. As of this writing, the only healthy running back they have on the roster is Bell. If Bell remains the only healthy running back I am going to be all in on him as he should see 20 plus touches in an elite offense against an average at best-run defense.

Samaje Perine ($6,500 FD, $5,300 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Rushing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Rushing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to RBs
Browns 21.00 111.1 13 21.93

While I was writing this article the Bengals have ruled out Joe Mixon and Joe Burrow for this week’s game. Both of those players being ruled out is excellent for Perine. Perine will become the main running back for the Bengals with Mixon out and may see a couple more touches due to Burrow being out. Perine is not only going to see the boost with those players out but I also don’t mind the match-up against a Browns that was just ran over last week by the Steelers and have nothing to play for.
