DraftKings CS:GO Esports DFS Rundown (BLAST) – December 16, 2021

Ninjas In Pyjamas (NIP) v.s. Astralis (ASTRA) (7:30 AM EST)

Both teams will be trying to rebound from a recent loss (ASTRA getting swept in their last matchup), but fortunately for them they defeated NIP the last time these teams met 2-0. K0nfig played a large part in the dominance for ASTRA with a +24 kill-death differential. This should worry NIP as well since k0nfig is dealing the second most amount of damage for ASTRA at an 81.9 average. The best thing NIP can possibly do is have device try to emulate tactics ZywOo did to dominate ASTRA in their last loss to VIT. However, ASTRA was able to contain device in the previous matchup these teams had so the chance that happens may be slim.

Team Liquid (TL) v.s. Gambit Esports (GY) (10:15 AM EST) (-225 GY)

After upsetting arguably, the best team in the world at the moment, TL now have to face another strong team in GY. The last time these teams met the series went down to the wire in favor of GY 2-1. Hobbit and sh1ro were the leading slayers for GY, with sh1ro being the more efficient with a +18 kill-death differential. This can become a problem again for TL with sh1ro still being the main sniper/anchor for the GY squad with a 1.54 K/D which is higher than anyone on both sides. Unless NAF has another dominant game, the victory may become difficult for TL, but they did show in their upset against NAVI that they were able to slow down one of the best snipers in the game so this game may be a toss-up. Ax1LE also averages the same amount of damage per round as NAF (82.1) so there is an opportunity for GY to prevent NAF from doing so.

Team Vitality (VIT) v.s. G2 Esports (G2) (1:15 PM EST)

VIT have continued to stay strong during their win-streak led by ZywOo and now will have a chance to stop G2 from extending their one-game win-streak in a rematch. Although G2 wasn’t able to prevent ZywOo from leading his team in slaying the last time these teams met they were still able to prevail in the end. Since ZywOo will have the edge in sniping once again with 87.8 damage per round and a 0.12 assist average compared to the opposing sniper AmaNek (68.2 damage per round and 0.10 assists per round) there should be no surprise if ZywOo leads the way again for VIT. On the other hand, NiKo was the leading slayer for G2 last time and still has the most damage dealt per round average at 96.2, which could lead to him dominating for G2 once again. Therefore, VIT will need other players outside of ZywOo to step up because if they’re unable to slay efficiently like last time they may end up losing yet again.
