Week 7 NFL DFS Quarterbacks (QB) Targets For FanDuel & DraftKings

Welcome to the FC Insights Quarterback Targets Article. In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays at the QB position for each DFS week of the 2021-2022 NFL DFS season.

Top Plays

Patrick Mahomes ($8,800 FD, $8,400 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Passing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Passing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to QBs
Titans 30.25 276.3 12 22.13

Patrick Mahomes is not playing great real-life football right now but he is still putting up big fantasy numbers week in and week out. Mahomes has at least 270 passing in each game this season and is third in the NFL in passing yards per game at 314.5. Mahomes also has at least two touchdown passes in each game and leads the NFL in passing touchdowns with 18. The elite yardage and touchdown passes have led to Mahomes producing at least 21 fantasy points in each game and averaging 28.6 fantasy points per game which is the most at the quarterback position. This week we should continue to see Mahomes put up huge numbers as the Titans have struggled to stop the pass for the past couple of seasons. This season they have allowed at least 270 yards passing to all but one quarterback and that quarterback was Carson Wentz who should have sat out that week. The Titans have also allowed at least two touchdown passes to four of the six quarterbacks they have faced and at least 18 fantasy points to each of the quarterbacks they have faced including Zach Wilson who has scored a total of 19.88 fantasy points in the two games prior and the one game after the Titans game.

Aaron Rodgers ($7,900 FD, $7,500 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Passing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Passing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to QBs
Washington Football Team 29.00 309.5 16 27.03

When spending up at the quarterback position I normally prefer to roster quarterbacks who air it out. That has not been Aaron Rodgers and the Packers this season. Rodgers is 22nd in pass attempts this season and the Packers rank 26th in pass attempts per game at just 32.2. With that being said it is hard not to like Rodgers even with the lack of attempts as he is still putting up big numbers each week. Rodgers has at least two touchdown passes in each game minus that week one game against the Saints and has produced at least 23 fantasy points in four of his past five games. The Redskins I mean Football Team is the best possible match-up for quarterbacks in the NFL. Washington ranks dead last in passing yards per game at 309.5, dead last in passing touchdowns allowed with 16, and dead last in fantasy points allowed per game to quarterbacks at 27.03 which is two fantasy points more than the next closet team.

Value Plays

Justin Fields ($6,500 FD, $5,300 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Passing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Passing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to QBs
Buccaneers 17.00 280.8 14 21.69

I was not a fan of Fields coming out of college and have certainly not been a fan of the way he has played since taking over as the Bears quarterback. Fields only has two touchdown passes this season and has produced double-digit fantasy points in only one of his starts and that game was only a 14.26 fantasy point performance. With that said if Fields is going to break out this season this week is his best chance to do it. The Bucs have a very exploitable pass defense. This season the Bucs have allowed the sixth-most passing yards per game, the third-most touchdown passes, and the seventh-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. They should be even more exploitable this week as Richard Sherman is added to the long list of injuries the Bucs have suffered at the cornerback position.

Tua Tagovailoa ($7,100 FD, $5,500 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Passing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Passing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to QBs
Falcons 22.75 244.4 11 22.10

Tua made his return to the Dolphins lineup in their London Game last week and he looked really good despite the Dolphins loss. Tua completed 70.2% of his 47 pass attempts for 329 yards and two scores. Tua also added in 22 rushing yards on his way to 25.36 fantasy points. If you also count week one which was the only other game Tua played the entire game, Tua is averaging 21.27 fantasy points per game this season which is elite production for someone as cheap as Tua is. Tua has not only played well this season but I also love the match-up against the Falcons. The Falcons have allowed at least three touchdown passes and at least 27 fantasy points to three of the five quarterbacks they have faced this season. The two quarterbacks they did not allow that level of production to have been Daniel Jones who only has four touchdown passes on the season and Zach Wilson who also only has four touchdown passes this season and has struggled to say the least as a rookie.
