DraftKings CS:GO Esports DFS Rundown (IEM NA) – October 7, 2021
Team Liquid (TL) v.s. Extra Salt (XSLT) (6:15 PM EST) (-260 TL)
TL did exactly what they needed to do in their last win and that was having other players step up with FalleN being slightly contained by his opposing sniper but also holding off their main anchor/sniper. Now FalleN is faced with another challenge yet again but this time against an even more efficient sniper in oSee. XSLT has also defeated TL last time in a close series when they faced off (2-1). Even with FalleN being the top slayer for TL in that last matchup, oSee wasn’t too far behind him in kills and was the second highest slayer on his team behind FaNg. The tricky part is that oSee went neutral against a less efficient sniper in their matchup yesterday so this match can go either way. As of now oSee has quite the gap in damage (84.4) compared to FalleN’s 66 so he should be able to slow him down which would put pressure on the other TL players to perform again. Fortunately, with TL having two players on their team in NAF/EliGE dealing 80+ damage per round while no one outside of oSee is dealing 80+ damage, TL may have a good chance to get their revenge here. NAF/EliGE are also coming off games as the second and third highest slayers for TL so this bodes well for their momentum entering this match.
EXTREMUM (EXT) v.s. Bad News Bears (BNB) (6:15 PM EST) (-185 EXT)
EXT was able to pull of the upset last game thanks to the main/anchor in Gratisfaction rebounding but now he has to face potentially another strong sniper in junior in today’s match. Junior is coming off a game as the second highest slayer for his team and has maintained his high kill-death efficiency for BNB at 1.41 which could be problematic for EXT due to his recent consistency. Jkaem of EXT still finds himself in a good position to contribute heavily with the highest damage per round out of both teams at 87.8 and the closest to him is Jonji of BNB but less at 83.1. With Gratisfaction and junior more than likely going back and forth in their duel throughout the match jkaem may needs to perform well even more. Fortunately, EXT have swept BNB 2-0 in a series the last time they met but that was without junior on BNB so this match can go differently. However, BnTeT was the most efficient in that last matchup with a +10 kill-death differential and second highest damage dealer as of now for EXT so he may end up being at least top two in kills this match for his team.
FURIA Esports v.s. Evil Genuises (7:15 PM EST) (-168 FURIA)
FURIA have been on a hot streak so far (four wins in a row) and coming off a dominant win but now faces a higher ranked opponent in EG who just lost their last match. Luckily for EG, they are even at 1-1 with FURIA in the matches they played this year. For FURIA, their success may be dependent on yurrih’s performance after having a +36 kill-death differential across those two games previously against EG. In addition, yuurih can potentially do damage once again since he is the second most efficient slayer on his team with a 1.22 K/D but slightly less than stanislaw (1.23) who can be a possible counter. Therefore, this may lead to KSCERATO leading the way for FURIA with a current 1.34 K/D as of late and yuurih probably having to deal with the combination of sniper duels with CeRq and stanislaw trying to slow him down. However, Stanislaw struggled in both previous matchups with a -17 kill-death differential which could be a blow to EG this time if that continues since he deals the most damage for him.
Triumph (TRI) v.s. GODSENT (GDSNT) (7:15 PM EST) (-488 GDSNT)
TRI and GDSNT faceoff once again and GDSNT were dominant in the last series which resulted in a 2-0 sweep. Dumau was the most efficient for GDSNT with a +23 kill-death differential and fortunately for his team they have an 80% win-rate as they try to build on their three-game win-streak, while TRI has a 59.5% win-rate while trying to increase their one game win streak. Dumau’s weapon versatility will be key here for GDSNT since his team doesn’t necessarily have a main sniper, but that is his second most used weapon and he currently deals the second most damage per round on his team at 81.3, which bodes well for him to perform well again. Therefore, cxzi of TRI would have to deal with dumau trying to counter him since he is the main sniper of his team and second highest damage dealer per round behind Bwills. Unfortunately, Bwills will be at a disadvantage this match since the top slayer from the last faceoff these teams had in felps currently deals the most damage for GDSNT. That being said since two of TRI’s best players may end up getting possibly shutdown/contained there shouldn’t be surprise if a sweep occurs once again in favor of GDSNT.
