Draftkings VALORANT Esports DFS Rundown – September 17, 2021
Gambit Esports (GAMBI) v.s. Vision Strikers (VS) (7:00 AM EST) (-150 VS)
As both teams kick off the slate both enter with winning streaks, VS having the higher streak of two at the moment. Although sheydos of GAMBI has regressed a bit since his last game he’s still a viable threat to his opponents of VIS as he averages the most damage per round out of both sides (161.6). The fact that sheydos is mainly the healer for his team with the ability to continuously heal his teammates and himself (if playing Sage) will be crucial. However, the killing is more balanced across the board for VS (team overall KD- 1.35) compared to GAMBI’s 1.26 team overall K/D which may give VS just enough edge to prevail in this matchup. The closest to sheydos’ K/D on VS would be MaKo (1.47 K/D) which would be a tough task for him, but having teammates in the same kill-death ratio (1.4), such as stax and Rb will help drastically in making a collaborative effort to slow down GAMBI’s strongest slayer in sheydos. Also, if that happens things will get tough for GAMBI, but this may end up being a really close battle.
G2 Esports (G2) v.s. KRU Esports (KRU) (10:00 AM EST) (-1150 G2)
G2 may have the biggest target on their backs as of now after being the first and only team to defeat SEN in a series so far (in a sweep). Keloqz was a large contributor for his G2 squad by making kills easier for his teammates with the sniper in his hands while on Jett to stay evasive on the map. However, his matchup won’t be any easier as he faces another dominant sniper in NagZet who has a higher early success rate at the moment which (65% versus keloqz’ 56%) can end up setting the momentum early in KRU’s favor. However, mixwell is at the top in early success rate with 68% and as an entry fragger which would be another annoyance NagZet and his teammates would have to worry about. In addition, with G2’s recent win against the arguably best team in the game their confidence more than likely is more than it’s ever been and that will be scary for every opponent going forward. G2 also has a 92% chance of winning anmd just might end up dominating here, especially if they get rid of NagZet first.
100 Thieves (100T) v.s. Acend (ACE) (1:00 PM EST)
After what felt like forever, 100T finally enter this match on a two-game streak, while ACE try to add on to their one-game win streak. Cned and zeek continue to be the dynamic duo ACE needs to be successful and cNed is arguably still the player likely to continue doing damage and take advantage of his accuracy with is above most of the 100T squad (64% headhost rate). On the other hand, the only person with a higher headshot rate happens to be nitr0 who is not an entry fragger so he may not be able to be the first to force momentum in 100T’s favor. Overall, this match may end up being closer than expect although 100T is expected to win by 73% while ACE is by 27%. As long as cNed and zeek are able to keep the fight close for their ACE they just may clutch up more in rounds, and they also have the advantage in defensive rounds (59.03% in that regard) versus 100T’s 54.67%.
Team EnVyUs (NV) v.s. Sentinels (SEN) (4:00 PM EST) (-355 SEN)
Two of the best NA teams face off once again and NV will be looking to get revenge here as they lost an extremely close game against SEN in their previous matchup. Yay’s consistency will be crucial for NV to have a chance (especially when he was second in kills in the last matchup). However, the pressure for yay to do well will always be a hassle, because more than likely he’d have to deal with Tenz in gunfights since both players have the highest early success rate for their team. SicK has also shown the ability to clutch frequently in rounds last game and being the most skilled player in the world across multiple agents is a very valuable asset that many people overlook. Also, SicK has the talent to perform/take over for the team just as well as Tenz and may be one of these first on his team to initiate battles with his opponents, especially if he’s playing a duelist with flashes. Marved of NV, who was the top slayer in the loss against SEN last time is also in an interesting spot due to the fact he has the most accurate shot as of now (30%). The only problem is as a smoke main (Astra/Viper), it may take Marved slightly longer to engage in gunfights, but if done efficiently Marved’s role to create smoke screens and to make lines of sight difficult for SEN is his best bet of winning fights with them, because without it will make the match even more difficult. In conclusion, this match should end up going down to the wire again, but with SEN actually losing this tournament they may end up trying even more against opponents which is scary for anyone they face going forward.
