Draftkings VALORANT Esports DFS Rundown – September 15, 2021
Paper Rex (PRX) v.s. SuperMassive Blaze (BLAZE) (9:00 AM EST) (-390 BLAZE)
To start the slate these two teams haven’t had the best start as they’ve both been swept in their series’ 2-0, but now one gets to put that losing streak to rest. BLAZE, as of now are projected to win by 87% while PRX is projected 13%. Unfortunately for PRX, they’ll need a lot more than f0rsakeN (1.31 K/D) to lead the way as the main duelist (Jett/Raze) for his team because as shown in their previous matchup it wasn’t enough since he was the only efficient slayer on his team. Moreover, there shouldn’t be surprise if f0rsakeN ends up leading the way in kills again or end up at least top two, but his teammates have to step up. As for BLAZE, pAura was the only player on his team in the intel role (Killjoy/Cypher) with a positive kill-death differential which may not happen again this time, but should worry PRX because he averages the least amount of damage per round on his team (127.1) and proved he can be the top slayer. In addition, Izzy (who happened to go neutral in BLAZE’s last loss) is the top damage dealer on his team with 163.3 which no one on PRX is averaging close to especially their duelists. Russ is also another player that PRX needs to worry about in his intel/healer role (Sova mainly) to make kills easier for his teammates with his scanning abilities on the map. This also doesn’t help f0rsakeN’s case to improve because Russ is just as efficient as him with a 1.36 K/D at the moment. In other words, PRX may be in for a bad beating here if no one is able to help f0rsakeN, especially when BLAZE is the more efficient team in kills.
G2 Esports (G2) v.s. Sentinels (SEN) (12:00 PM EST) (-395 SEN)
SEN have continued to show that they’re the team to defeat in this tournament and are making it difficult for anyone to do so as they continued their win-streak (two so far in this tournament, ten overall). Fortunately, SEN have defeated G2 already this tournament in a series 2-1. TenZ has been one of if not the most valuable player during this tournament with a +53 kill-death differential across SEN’s wins so far as the main duelist for SEN (Jett primarily). The fact that G2 was able to somewhat keep the series close (more so the second map compared to the first), nukkye can’t be the only one doing the killing on his team efficiently. Nukkye is coming off a +18 kill-differential game in G2’s last win though so more than likely he’d have to carry the load again for his team as their entry-fragger and somehow slow down Tenz. Now would be the opportunity for nukkye to do so with a slightly more accurate shot at the moment (19% compared to Tenz’s 18%). Even so it’d be easier said than done, but the fact G2 was able to take a map off of SEN should push them more to give SEN more competition. But with the in-game leadership by ShahZaM who has been consistent, and the versatility and slaying between multiple agents in the game in SicK they’re really difficult to defeat and are definitely the team to beat.
Vivo Keyd (VIVO) v.s. KRU Esports (KRU) (3:00 PM EST) (-219 VIVO)
VIVO put on a show in their previous win with flashy plays/clutches by heat (who ended up with a +31 kill-death differential), and is definitely beginning to separate himself from Jett mains in this tournament outside of Tenz. Heat’s damage per round has also remained high at 160 which will cause problems for the majority of players that try to slow him down. KRU is also coming off a tough loss in which they were swept 2-0, and their top Jett main/duelist in NagZet was contained. NagZet has a chance here to go toe to toe with heat but he’s still at an accuracy disadvantage (20% to heat’s 28%), so the best he could do is take advantage of early momentum since he has a higher early success rate of 65% compared to heat’s 62%). Keznit also has a good chance to bounce back here after having a -12 kill-death differential in their previous loss, but still averaging the highest damage out of both sides at 170. Therefore, KRU may be able to put up a fight here but the team they last beat 2-1 is the team VIVO just dominated with ease 2-0 which could be bad news for KRU’s chances of getting back on track with winning.
