DraftKings CS:GO Esports DFS Rundown (IEM) – September 15, 2021
Team OPPA (OPPA) v.s. FaZe Clan (FAZE) (11:30 AM EST) (-1438 FAZE)
To kick off the qualifier FAZE gets a chance to rebound after coming off a loss last tournament against a #108 ranked opponent in OPPA, while FAZE currently ranks at #6 in the world. Twistzz has become one of FAZE’s go to slayers on the team and was the only one in his team’s last loss to finish with a positive kill-death differential (+5). However, broky has been the most efficient so far as of late with the highest K/D of 1.11, while Twistzz has a 1.09 so there wouldn’t be a surprise if both of these two ended up top two in slaying today in a matchup that they should win. OPPA have been on a three-game win-streak going into this match which could make things interesting if they continue to play with momentum in their favor. Ryxxo’s performance is crucial as the main sniper for this OPPA squad and currently has a chance to clash heavily with the opposing main sniper in broky during this match. Fortunately for Ryxxo he currently averages more damage per round (75.4 versus broky’s 72.1) so there’s a possibility Ryxxo makes kills easier for his teammates if he takes advantage of this opportunity. In addition, notaN of OPPA deals the most damage per round (76.7) out of both teams so he’d have a chance to rebound here as well after coming off his team’s last win as the second highest in kills, but with a -3 kill-death differential. All in all, from the outside looking in this matchup should be on the easier side for FAZE according to the rankings, but if broky ends up being slowed down by Ryxxo the match may end up closer than expected.
Fiend (FND) v.s. Copenhagen Flames (CPHF) (11:30 AM EST) (-133 CPHF)
Both of these teams enter this match on current hot streaks (FND- 5 wins, CPHF- 3 wins) and the rankings are really close with CPHF being the higher ranked at 25th while FND comes in at 31st. The last time these teams met FND ended up victorious in a close 2-1 series. REDSTAR and h4rn were the most efficient of their FND squad with +13, +12 kill-death differentials in that previous matchup which helped give their team that edge needed to win. With h4rn averaging the most damage dealt per round (1.14 average) and being the anchor/main sniper for his team he’d probably end up at least one of the two top slayers for his team this time around again. Nicoodoz of CPHF who also happens to snipe for CPHF has the accuracy advantage as of now though with 32% compared to h4rn’s 28.4% headshot rate which could be the opening for CPHF to slow down one of FND’s most valuable players. Moreover, although roej had a negative kill-death differential for CPHF in the last matchup, there is a chance that he ends up contributing a lot more heavily this time around due to the average damage dealt per round he has which has quite the gap compared to others in this match at 85.5. The fact that roej has been at least top two in kills during CPHF’s win-streak also helps his case to continue doing so. Regardless this may end up as one of the closer matches on the slate that can go either way.
SKADE (SKA) v.s. Anonymo (ANO) (2:15 PM EST) (-445 SKA)
SKADE enters this match with a 64% win-rate advantage over ANO’s 50% win-rate as SKADE attempts to continue their win-streak while ANO looks to rebound from a one game loss. Fortunately, for SKADE they have won all four times these teams met this year so their chances of continuing that here more than likely will happen. SHiPZ has been the most dominant in the previous games combined with a +40 kill-death differential and should be ANO’s biggest concern due to his high accuracy currently (53.7% headshot rate), along with dennyslaw having the highest K/D on SKA with a 1.20. With no one having a consistent positive kill-death differential for ANO it would be hard to determine who has an opportunity to step up, but it definitely has to be done if they plan on finally getting their first win against this team this year. The fact that Snax is the only player on ANO with a K/D slightly above 1 doesn’t bode well for ANO either if they plan on recovering from their losses. That being said SKA should end up dominating this matchup with ease.
Mad Lions (MAD) v.s. Dignitas (DIG) (2:15 PM EST) (-117 DIG)
To end the slate both teams are within close range ranking wise with MAD being 39th and DIG being 32nd. MAD has also been on a tear with a current 11-game win-streak and DIG is trying to continue their streak off their last win. DIG has defeated this team before in their only past matchup this year so it’ll be interesting to see if they can end this big win-streak. Lekr0 carried the majority of the kills for his DIG squad (+17 kill-differential) in that matchup and currently averages the second most damage (80) on his team behind f0rest (86) which bodes well for his chances to have a significant contribution in pulling off the upset. TMB of MAD can potentially match that slaying ability though with an 86 damage per round average as well, along with his teammate Woro2k having a 1.60 K/D as of late (month) and 89 damage per round as the main sniper on the team. In conclusion, this faceoff should end up going down to the wire once again, but DIG may end up being under more pressure to win since MAD has been on such a long streak.
