Week 2 NFL DFS Quarterbacks (QB) Targets For FanDuel & DraftKings

Welcome to the FC Insights Quarterback Targets Article. In this post, we will be breaking down our top options and plays at the QB position for each DFS week of the 2021-2022 NFL DFS season.

Top Plays

Kyler Murray ($8,700 FD, $8,200 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Passing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Passing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to QBs
Vikings 27.50 217.0 2 18.64

It is hard not to like Murray this week even with him being the highest-priced quarterback after what we saw from him in week one. In the opener against the Titans Murray looked in total control throughout the game and looks like he has taken a leap in year three. I mean just look at his stats in that game. Murray threw for 289 yards and four scores while also adding in 20 rushing yards and a touchdown. Murray produced 34.56 fantasy points in that game which dating back to last season was the 12th time in his past 17 games that Murray has produced at least 20 fantasy points. Murray is not likely to slow down this week against a Vikings defense that just did not look all that great in week one against a recovering Joe Burrow and Bengals offense.

Matthew Stafford  ($7,500 FD, $6,400 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Passing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Passing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to QBs
Colts 25.75 241.0 4 27.06

There was a lot of talk about how great a fit Stafford was for Sean McVay and the Rams offense and for at least one week that looked true. Stafford with his big arm kicked the Rams offense to a new gear passing for 321 yards and three scores on his way to 24.34 fantasy points. This week I am expecting we similar production from Stafford as he really is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL despite him playing in Detroit. The match-up against the Colts is also not too shabby as they did allow four passing touchdowns to another NFC West Quarterback in week one Russell Wilson.

Jameis Winston ($7,700 FD, $6,100 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Passing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Passing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to QBs
Panthers 23.50 207.0 2 18.32

I am a big Winston fan and was super high on him last week. I was so high on Winston last week that he was in 100% of my lineups. Winston paid off my faith with five passing touchdowns on just 20 attempts and 148 passing yards. I just wish the rest of my players performed for me. Now, moving forward we can expect to see Winston’s passing touchdowns drop but I also expect we see his passing attempts increase as well as his passing yards. Even with the likely drop in Winston’s touchdown passes he is still a quarterback that is likely going to be throwing two touchdown passes a game. This week that is exactly what I expect we see from Wilson against the Panthers. The Panthers allowed Zach Wilson to throw for two touchdowns in his debut and is coming off a season in which they allowed eighth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.

Value Play

Teddy Bridgewater ($7,000 FD, $5,400 DK)

Opponent Team Total Opponent Passing Yards Allowed Per Game Opponent Total Passing Touchdowns Allowed Opponent Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game to QBs
Jaguars 25.75 289.0 2 23.64

I am not a big Bridgewater fan but it is hard to deny that he looked really good in week one for the Broncos. In that game, Bridgewater passed for 264 yards and two scores on his way to 20.46 fantasy points. This week I think we can see a similar type of outing from Bridgewater due to the match-up against the Jaguars. The Jaguars allowed Tyrod Taylor who is a similar type of quarterback to Bridgewater to throw for 291 yards and two scores on his way to 23.64 fantasy points. Last season the Jaguars pass defense was just as bad as they allowed the sixth-most passing yards per game, the third-most passing touchdowns, and the seventh-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.
