MLB DFS: Daily Home Run Picks for FanDuel & DraftKings on September 14, 2021.
Every day this season, our team shares who we believe has the best chance to leave the yard. From one-off plays to core parts of daily stacks, we hope this fun article will help you build winning lineups along the way.
James: Brandon Belt – “I have low faith in Jake Arrieta and his 7.04 ERA and 1.73 WHIP. In 94.2 innings on the year, Arrieta has allowed 23 home runs and in a pretty even split of 12 to righties and 11 to lefties. Arrieta coming into this start has also had 196 at-bats against each side of the plate. It really is a dead split here, with righties slugging .556 and lefties at .551. So when it comes down to equal splits, I will just go with the team leader in homers in Brandon Belt who has 19 of his 23 homers on the year against right-handed pitching.”
Zach: Aaron Judge – “Judge has gone deep three times in his past three games and I am expecting him to easily go deep tonight which will extend my streak of home run calls to six straight days. The reason why I am expecting Judge to easily go deep is the match-up against the Alexander Wells and the Orioles bullpen. Wells has an HR/9 rate of 1.59 this season and is allowing right-handed hitters to slash .362/.430/.609. The Orioles bullpen is one of the worst in the majors and for the season have the second-highest team HR/9 rate at 1.47.”
Jared: Bryce Harper – “Not only is Harper as hot as anyone in the majors right now, but he also faces off against Adrian Sampson tonight, who has the highest HR/9 amongst SPs on the slate in the last month at 2.2. Sampson’s barrel rate of 12% in that time is among the highest in the league in that regard as well, and he has a career .411 wOBA / .626 SLG when he’s not pitching on home turf. Meanwhile, Harper is tearing the cover off the ball over the last week with a .667 ISO, 1.111 SLG, 317 wRC+ and elite 25% barrel rate (95.8 mph exit velocity). The good times should absolutely continue to roll here for the Phillies’ star outfielder.”
