CFL DFS Core Plays & Cheat Sheets for Week 3 – DraftKings
Looking for a quick consolidated list of options to play today? Let’s take a look at our CFL Core Plays & Cheat Sheets for DraftKings to help navigate this week’s slate!
Last week was not a great week for me and it all started with me falling asleep on the couch. While I was fast asleep Michael Reilly made a surprise start after initially being ruled out for the week. Reilly’s start did not bode well for my 90% exposure to Nathan Rourke. I also had heavy exposure to Brady Oliveira who did not repeat his performance from week one or come even close to it. Even Brandon Banks who is as sure a bet you can get in the CFL had a bad game with only 8.2 fantasy points who was my third core play this week. While last week sucked the best thing to do is put it behind you and just focus on the week ahead.
QB- Vernon Adams Jr. $10,300
I was tempted to write up Michael O’Connor as a core play at the QB position as Bo Levi Mitchell is out with a broken leg which should leave O’Connor who is only $7,700 in salary to start but I couldn’t pass on Adams this week. The match-up for Adams is just too good as the Stampeders have really struggled to stop the pass so far this season. Through two games, Calgary has allowed 348 passing yards per game which is the most in the CFL, and also two scores. The match-up for Adams is not only an excellent one but Adams is also an elite CFL quarterback. Adams passed for 211 yards and two scores in his first game of the season while also adding in 29 rushing yards on his way to 19.34 fantasy points.
WR- B.J. Cunningham $7,800
It is only natural that if I like Adams a lot this week that I would like his number one receiver a lot this week Cunningham. Cunningham was targeted seven times in the Alouettes’ first game of the season and turned those targets into five catches for 86 yards and a score. Dating back to 2019 which was the previous CFL season as you should know we will also see that Cunningham saw at least seven targets in four of his six games, had at least six catches in three of those games, and had at least 64 yards receiving in four of those games as well.
WR- Brayden Lenius $6,000
Do I love the salary jump on Lenius who was $4,000 or cheaper in each of the first two games of the season? No, I don’t but it is salary increases are something you have to deal with this week as DraftKings really tightened up their pricing. It is also not like Lenius has not earned his salary as he has eight catches for 87 yards and a score through the first two weeks of the season producing 11 fantasy points in each of those games as well. The match-up for Lenius is also a solid one as the Redblacks have allowed the second-most passing yards per game this season.
RB- Ante Milanovic-Litre $4,800
I am going to give you a fourth core play this week in Milanovic-Litre. Milanovic-Litre only has 43 rushing yards on the season but has been heavily involved in the passing game. Milanovic-Litre has at least three catches in each of the first two games of the season which has allowed him to produce at least seven fantasy points in each of the first two games of the season. While I know seven fantasy points is not a ton of production with pricing really being tight this week seven fantasy points from a player as cheap as Milanovic-Litre is could be a big difference-maker.
