Looking for a quick consolidated list of options to play today? Let’s take a look at our DraftKings and FanDuel Cheat Sheets to help navigate today’s slate!
Sunday’s slate gets going at 6pm EST tonight as the Habs head home, up 2-0 as they continue to shock the hockey world. Colorado and Vegas will drop the puck on game 4 after Vegas got back into the series, picking up the third game. Let’s have a look at some ways to approach building line-ups for tonight’s slate!
- Carey Price stole the show in game two in a 1-0 Montreal win and with how good he has been through nine games in the post-season, it’s hard to bet against him at this point. If he is seeing the shot, he is stopping the puck right now and he’s got to be in the heads of the Jets a little bit after shutting them out in game 2. He’s an excellent option and a big reason that I’m not too interested in the Jets forward tonight – who remain without the suspended Mark Scheifele. Stastny is a GTD yet again tonight, and the Jets will really need him back so that they aren’t without their top two centers again. He was a part of the skate early on Sunday, so things are trending in the right direction for him at least. If he plays, you can mix in Stastny-Connor-Wheeler and Copp-Dubois-Ehlers into your builds in MME formats (assuming that these are the lines they go with in the end). Pionk and Morrisey are worth keeping in your player pool as well and G Connor Hellebuyck is an interesting game theory pivot off of Price here. He too, was excellent in Game 2, and is one of the best goalies in the league. If you like him/the Jets over Montreal tonight – he’s a rock solid choice between the pipes.
- As good as Montreal has been defensively, their offence leaves a lot to be desired. MTL2 with the Suzuki line remains the only one that I really like and I think they are one of the better options on the board for a mid-priced spend tonight. The Habs, however – have really struggled to score at times this post-season and if you like Winnipeg tonight to even the series, you could make a case for a game theory fade on Montreal to narrow down your player pool tonight.
- COL1/COL PP1 with a tiny bit of COL3 sprinkled in for MME formats remains my favourite way to play the Avs, with their top line being the best stack on the board for the slate tonight by a massive margin over the next best group. They’ll be the chalk tonight. Makar has been a stud on the back-end for the Avs and is an elite high spend option here, while Graves is worth getting some exposure to for a mid-priced spend on the back-end. I do like the Avs in this one – so if you think the Jets/Habs goalies will garner all the ownership, Grubauer is worth mixing into builds for a high floor option who ‘could’ potentially fly under the radar from an ownership standpoint.
- I don’t have too much interest in VGK here, but getting some exposure to each of their top two lines is smart in MME formats. Martinez is a great high floor option on the point and Theodore and Pietrangelo are worth keeping in your player pools along with Whitecloud as a punt with upside. I don’t have too much interest in Fleury in this one.
Best of luck in your contests tonight in what should be a fun night of NHL playoff action on DraftKings!
