DraftKings CoD Core Plays and Cheat Sheet (CDL) – June 06, 2021

FLA Mutineers v.s. LA Guerrilas (-168 FLA) (3:00 PM EST)

FLA seemed to start becoming more consistent but was unable to close out their last series and will be looking for a chance to rebound here against LAG who they’ve defeated before the last time they met in a series 3-2. Unfortunately, LAG will be on a back-to-back after losing their match yesterday and can’t seem to get momentum going to start this stage. Their only neutral gametype that they have a 1-1 record in as of now is search and destroy. However, search and destroy happens to be one of FLA’s best gametypes, at the moment (3-2 record for them) so if LAG wants a chance to redeem themselves, they’ll definitely have to try and capitalize off of the search and destroy gametype. Apathy and Assault have been the most efficient slayers for LAG on this gametype with Apathy having 36% of the team’s kills. On the other hand, the submachine guns of FLA in Havok, Neptune have been doing the most damage for FLA (1.04/1.12 K/D) which makes the task even tougher for Apathy who happens to be one of the submachine gun mains for LAG. In the previous matchup LAG was unable to win a control gametype so that will be crucial this time to win since they’ve shown that they can win the other gametypes. Sadly, for LAG the control gametype happen to be their second worst gametype at the moment which they’re 0-2 on next to hardpoint in which they’re 0-3 so their backs may be against the walls for this one.

ATL FaZe v.s. LA Thieves (-295 ATL) (4:30 PM EST)

LAT enters this matchup coming off a loss from a team that’s expected to be one of the bottom tier teams and their matchup doesn’t get any easier against arguably the best team in the game in ATL. Fortunately, LAT was able to keep it close last time these two teams faced off in a series (which LAT lost 2-3) so it will be interesting to see if they try to take a similar approach to this match like they did previously. ATL on the other hand, just seems to be a step ahead of the other teams in the league and are beginning to make form as they prepare for championships at the end of the road. Drazah had 29% of the kills for his LAT squad across all gametypes in the previous faceoff between these two teams and is performing a little less efficient at the moment with a kill-death ratio under 1 which will need to improve to counter the slaying power of ATL. Kenny will definitely need the help from his assault rifle main duo in Drazah to attempt slowing down the annoyance of the tiny terrors while dealing with Cellium’s finesse style on the map and Arcitys’ anchoring. Cellium also has sneakily become one of the best players on the ATL squad as of now with a 1.37 K/D and the way he plays can make opponents easily frustrated which won’t make the matchups fun at all for opposing assault rifle mains. Moreover, what may be key here for LAT to keep the series close is taking the search and destroy gametype early although both teams are currently 2-1 in this gametype LAT currently has a higher first blood rate (64% versus 42.9% from ATL). Therefore, if LAT is successful at this task, then who knows maybe they end up forcing a game five again in the series this time around.

NY Subliners v.s. DAL Empire (-268 NYS) (6:00 PM EST)

This may be one of the wildcard matches on the slate which may end up going really poorly for one side or possibly the closest matchup on the slate. DAL proved many doubters wrong dominating in their last matchup as they try to improve their form since their latest acquisition of Vivid. Also, the last time these teams met NYSL was swept in Stage 2 Majors 3-0 but that was with DAL’s previous roster without Vivid. NYSL has completely evolved since then and looked like their best since adding HyDra to their squad. However, both squads seem to be a little more even this time with slight advantages on each side (NYSL hardpoint record of 3-1 versus DAL’s 2-2 record and DAL’s search and destroy record of 3-1 versus NYSL’s 2-1 record). Therefore, a key win may come down to what both teams are currently shaky on and that is the control gametype. NYSL currently has a 1-1 record on this gametype which is slightly better than DAL’s 1-2 record but this gametype has definitely been NYSL’s biggest flaw while DAL has had some clutch moments during controls. NYSL currently has the upper hand in slaying on this gametype with a team overall K/D of 1.05 compared to DAL’s 0.89 and with more practice before this match with all the obstacles that occurred for NYSL this past week and getting Asim back into the states the Subliners should have no excuse this time to be more prepared. Crimsix played out of his mind last time these teams met with a 2.25 K/D and if he performs anywhere close to that rate again it would definitely help boost DAL’s chances a lot to get another win in this rematch especially with Mack on the other side who is a flex assault rifle main doing damage to teams as of late for NYSL. Asim, however is leading the way for NYSL in slaying with a 1.34 K/D and if maintained should complement his team well especially his more aggressive submachine gun duo in HyDra. Therefore, it may end up going down to if Shotzzy can perform really well again like his previous match across gametypes (2.01 K/D) to counter Asim/HyDra but he will definitely need his new submachine duo Vivid to continue stepping his game up. In conclusion, this matchup can go either way and shouldn’t end in a sweep again but anything can happen and we can only wait and see.
