The WNBA Rundown – FanDuel & DraftKings WNBA DFS Picks – May 30, 2021 (5/30/21)
In this article, we will be breaking down some of our favorite plays on the slate at their positions. Remember to always keep your eye on the news as the day progresses.
Brittney Sykes– I was tempted to write up Diamond DeShields again as I feel she is going to have a high bounce-back game after her dud last game out against the Sparks but instead I am going to give you someone DeShields is facing tonight in Sykes. Sykes has played at least 22 minutes in each of the Sparks’ three games this season and has at least 20 fantasy points in two of those three games. One of those games was of course against the Sky who the Sparks face again tonight. With the Sky’s struggles against guards this (bottom four in points, rebounds, assists allowed per game to guards) there is no reason to believe that Sykes doesn’t have another solid game in this one.
Chelsea Gray– I normally prefer to spend up for the elite forwards but on this slate Gray is someone I feel you need to have heavy exposure to. Gray has just been that good for the Aces after her awful first game. In her past five games, Gray is averaging 15.2 points, 7.8 assists, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.4 steals+blocks. Gray has at least 26 fantasy points in each of those games and is averaging 38.3 fantasy points during this stretch. What I love the most about Gray tonight is her match-up against the Fever. The Fever have allowed the second-most assists and second-most points per game this season. Gray also dominated the Fever in her last game with a 19/4/12 stat line with five steals on her way to 55.80 fantasy points.
Jonquel Jones – I originally thought that I was going to have very low exposure to Jones on this slate after watching what the Lynx have done to Breanna Stewart this season but as of this writing Jones is the player I am going to have the most exposure to. I am going to have the most exposure to Jones tonight for two reasons. The first is I don’t think the Lynx defense is as good as they have looked against Stewart. This season they have allowed the fifth-most points per game including the third-most points per game in the paint and the fourth-most rebounds per game. The second reason is the way Jones has played. Jones has been one of the top three or four players in the WNBA this season and has been unstoppable over her past five games. In those five games, Jones is averaging 20 points, 11.6 rebounds, four assists, 2.2 steals, a block, and 48.1 fantasy points.
Damiris Dantas– Dantas has not produced this season with zero games over 20 fantasy points but I really like the value she offers tonight due to Aerial Powers being out. With Powers out that in theory should open up some more minutes for Dantas though that was not the case against the Storm. Dantas in my opinion is also better than she has shown this season as she did average over 20 fantasy points per game in each of the past two seasons.
Ruthy Hebard – Hebard’s salary is at a point where she is not a must play as she was the past couple of slates but even with the increase in salary she is a hard player to fade as Candace Parker is out once again. In the past four games with Parker out, Hebard is averaging 12 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.5 steals, two blocks, and 33.6 fantasy points.
